Its probably because China puts much importance in bloodline, this is true in the olden times and so some families especially traditional / conservative ones has this kind of thinking.. something like.. ‘a wild child is not as good as your blood related child, cause it came from your flesh and blood’ but of course thats a very outdated thinking and most modern parents dont think like that anymore

I think I’ll have to disagree with you there. The Xia family is known to have many rules as said in one of the previous chapters and more rules than the Chen family. The family just realised that every sentence he says has a reason for it. Like during the painting or the arrival of the artist of that painting, I think had he just come out and said what he wanted it would be more welcoming than the way he did it. Also if you had a relative who bullied and schemed against another like XY did, would you have been able to accept his flaws? I couldn’t. I think the Xia family is more disappointed in him and as a result of him not reining in the schemes, it has caused them to feel disgusted towards him. If I knew my brother sent a rapist to molested a person, I’d smack the hell out of him and personally send him to jail. How many of his schemes can the family forgive before its too much? And these schemes weren’t just directed to XSB but to his adopted family as well. I agreed that they are putting too much emphasis on blood but if we take blood out of the equation, do you really think they can accept him as a son with such moral flaws? Could you? If they are righteous (which I don’t know if they are but hope they are since they work in medical field), they could never accept such a character. And if they have rigid rules in how one behaves in and out of the house, I think such acts would be reason enough to distance themselves or question their involvement with him. I broke my relationship with a cousin of mine and it was for a less serious reason but it was a reason I could not morally allow myself to accept him as part of my family.
But that doesn’t really make them good. And it’s hypocritical for them to act like yubin is disgusting for being greedy since that’s literally how they raises him.
They had a marriage ready for him because it would benefit the company and earn them more money. They’re literally a pharmaceutical company and own privatized hospitals. Both industries are notorious for they’re greed, especially pharmaceutical companies. Again the worst offender and the thing that completely ruins your argument. And they never had a problem with Yubin being beasties with him because they’re families are greedy and have business relations. The only reason they care now about his relationship with Zhou quian is because it has directly impacted them. I don’t think he’s greedy because that was how they raised him. I mean, if it’s the fault of how the parents raised the children, then at least one of the two big brothers is going to be greedy too. Sure, hitting children physically is wrong, but a child getting hit doesn’t make sure the kid will turns out hateful and greedy. Let’s say if two kids grew up getting hit, one of them will turn out hateful, but the other one will learn that you shouldn’t raise your kid that way. In this point, genes and personality of the person matters too. In Yubin’s case, his personality is just sh*t. They even encouraged the friendship between yubin and Zhou quian, because they’re two family’s have been close friends for generations, and have business relations.
All this and they have the audacity to act like yubin is like that because he doesn’t have the same genes. After raising him Thinking he was their son!!!! 😡. And they immediately abandoned him. Also the author mentions that in his last life he wasn’t scheming and says he was a very pure and innocent person. ngl your comments knocked some moral sense into my brain and I can’t keep being so biased, it’s true that Yunbin was the one provoking MC first but I wouldn’t say I like how Qingshu deliberately fanned the flame and acted cute and innocent and all while he’s planning the scene in his mind it just feels so green tea. The main conclusion they’re all victims, Yubin, Qingshu, and OG Qingshu, Yubin deserves a better family, and I hope he’ll at least get an ending where he can still live a regular life instead of being abandoned on the streets, I want Qingshu to stop his acting and show his actual personality, and I also have a theory, what if our Xia Qingshu the mc is actually OG Xia Qingshu in another universe where he was never switched at birth like it was mentioned mc’s mother was an actress and mc’s father was a doctor.
