SK Chapter 67

Wrath 14

It was only now that everyone suddenly realized they had actually never witnessed a true seventh-rank Crimson Evil in action.

The gentle and peaceful Qi Changying was not like that.

The fierce and violent Miao woman was not like that either.

The dense yin energy that exceeded their understanding constantly stimulated every cell in their bodies, like a black-gray storm that sought to destroy everything. Wherever it passed, there was only the aura of death, with not a blade of grass growing. It was as though merely letting the blood-soaked resentful aura that was almost condensing into substance lightly sweep across the earth would be enough to create a living hell.

No, even hell could not be like this.

Black clouds gathered and swirled overhead, with blood-red lightning flashing among them. They resonated with the enormous runes on the ground, drawing out rolling thunder.

The instinctive fear of death deep in their hearts forced them to lower their heads. In front of Crimson Evil, humans seemed to have become snowflakes and grains of sand in a violent wind, swept into the storm with no power to fight back.

At a certain moment, life and death were no longer matters they could control. All they could do was quietly wait, waiting to see whether the storm would carry them away like breaking a blade of grass, until not even a trace of them could remain in this world.

Huo Wei took half a step back and realized that her legs were trembling and weak. She could barely steady herself by holding onto the car door.

She lowered her head and looked at her waist.

Then she froze slightly.

She discovered that the cracking sound she had heard just now had not come from the shackles on the fierce ghost’s wrists.

It had come from the strings of copper bells and Soul-Weeping Coins around her own waist.

All the nether path magical artifacts and ritual tools she carried with her had shattered.

“Dong!”

Xuangu Mountain Range, Yunling Mountain Residence, Zhuge Family Ancestral Hall.

A huge, ancient-looking bronze bell stood in the very center of the rows upon rows of memorial tablets for the deceased. Without anyone touching it, the bronze bell trembled and let out deep, heavy hums, causing all the candle flames in the room to sway incessantly.

The layers upon layers of Soul-Weeping Coins hanging along the four sides of the ancestral hall’s ceiling rang out at the same time, the noise almost tearing through people’s eardrums.

The area outside the ancestral hall soon became chaotic. Hurried footsteps passed by, and someone knocked on the door:

“Mastet, there is an anomaly in the nether path. Please give your instructions!”

Inside the dim ancestral hall, the candlelight was the only source of illumination.

The room was so quiet that one could hear a pin drop. The only person there was a man in black kneeling in the very center of the ancestral hall.

He wore a bamboo hat, with a black veil hanging from its edges, almost completely concealing his figure.

On hearing this, he did not move at all. Only the thin black veil swayed slightly with the wind stirred up by the bell.

The young man outside the ancestral hall did not dare make another sound. Cold sweat broke out on his forehead as he stared at the blank talisman paper pasted outside the ancestral hall door, not even daring to breathe heavily.

After a moment, the talisman paper reacted.

Blood-red marks slowly emerged from the yellow paper, finally settling into two words:

[Crimson Evil]

The young man’s expression changed drastically, and he immediately called out:

“Report to the family head! Crimson Evil has appeared in the world! Crimson Evil has appeared in the world!!”

The voice startled the sparrows perched on the branches. The birds flapped their wings and flew away from the branches together with the leaves.

The leaves fell toward the ground, while the birds flew toward the sky.

No one knew where the sudden upheaval that had shaken the nether path on this peaceful night had come from.

Even less did they know that, at the very center of the storm thousands of miles away, a young man was standing leisurely before the enormous blood-colored runes formation, his chin slightly raised, as though a genius craftsman were admiring the one and only satisfactory work he had painstakingly crafted over several years.

Ever since fighting the female ghost in the inner world, Fu Sang had privately deduced it countless times and eventually confirmed that no magical artifact had the ability to forcibly raise a ghost from the first rank all the way to the seventh rank out of thin air.

The doll the gu demon carried could do it because it was actually a “container.”

Since it could contain the female ghost, naturally it could also store something else.

This meant that what had caused the female ghost to rapidly rise in rank within such a short time was most likely not the doll itself, but another kind of power that independently existed inside it.

Fu Sang had studied the Seven Watch Blood Crying Prison in Qiyueban’s journal  for so long that he had actually gained something from it.

For example, he discovered early on that there was another string of incantations in the formation whose function seemed to be “separation.” It was just that at the time, Fu Sang did not know what exactly it was being used to separate. Now, everything had finally come together…

It separated the bloody and resentful aura belonging to Qi Changying, divided away most of Crimson Evil’s power, and hid it inside this doll container.

Fu Sang had said it before: Qi Changying was his ghost. Everything belonging to Qi Changying, whether power or destiny, belonged to him and should all belong to him.

It did not matter if they had been stolen. He would always make those people or ghosts obediently return them.

Thus, using the doll as a medium, he reversed the incantations in Seven Watch Blood Crying Prison that meant “separation,” lured the female ghost over with the gu demon Ah Lang, and forced her to leave Liu Xiaoying’s body.

Then, Fu Sang gave Qi Changying an opportunity to personally take back the power that had been stolen from him.

After reversing the rune incantations, their function once they took effect was naturally the opposite of the original.

Since the original function of this incantation was separation, after being reversed, it became fusion.

Now, the shackles that had bound Qi Changying’s wrists and ankles were already shattered, meaning that all the restraints on him have been removed.

The power belonging to a seventh-rank Crimson Evil had truly appeared in the world.

There was only one Qi Changying in this world, and there was only one Crimson Evil.

Who was worthy of being mentioned alongside him?

The robes on Qi Changying’s body should originally have been crimson, but those clothes had already endured too much. Their edges had been scorched black by raging flames, and countless tears had been slashed and ripped into them by blades and swords. The vivid color had consequently turned gray and dull, and together with the era that belonged to it, had been buried in that sandstorm from a thousand years ago.

Now, they had finally seen the light of day again.

Amid the violent wind, black hair and red robes fluttered wildly in the wind. Qi Changying’s eyes were sometimes clear and sometimes murky.

Strands of black mist spread across his pupils, while ink-colored patterns resembling cracked porcelain slowly spread from around his eye sockets across his entire face.

The face, which had always been gentle and peaceful, showed a rare trace of ferocity.

“…Oh no, has he lost his mind?!” A terrifying possibility surfaced in Zhuge Buhuo’s mind, and even his voice trembled:

“Zhuge Fusang should be able to control the situation after pulling something like this, right? He can, right?? He didn’t just smack his forehead and bury all of us along with him, did he?!”

Whether he had heard his voice or for some other reason, Qi Changying turned his face toward him.

The moment he met those eyes that had almost completely turned into thick ink, Zhuge Buhuo instantly fell silent. Overwhelming fear surged into his heart, leaving him almost unable to move.

“Come back.”

At that moment, another voice came from not far away, cold and calm. Although the voice was not loud, it fell with incomparable clarity into everyone’s ears amid the violent wind.

Qi Changying’s attention was instantly drawn to that voice.

He narrowed his eyes slightly and turned his head to look. Then he saw the slender figure standing amid the sky-piercing red light.

It was as though some instinct in his soul were pulling at him. After seeing that person, the violent yin energy around him, which was on the verge of losing control, gradually became calm. He struggled and resisted, but still slowly raised his feet and walked toward that person.

He did not know where he was, and for a moment he could not remember what he was doing.

He only knew that beneath the soaring red light, there was a very familiar person standing there.

Although both his consciousness and the figure and face of that person in his eyes were equally blurry, Qi Changying knew that he had to get closer to him.

It was only a short stretch of road, yet in terms of sensation, it seemed to have already lasted an eternity.

Fu Sang coldly watched the Crimson Evil draw closer and closer to him.

From his eyes and his slow and difficult steps, Fu Sang could see that he was struggling frantically, with reason and power fighting each other.

The Crimson Evil’s resentment was too powerful and concentrated. It was inevitable that it would invade his reason.

At such a close distance, if Qi Changying lost control and attacked Fu Sang, Fu Sang would undoubtedly die.

He had not left himself any backup plan either.

But he was betting.

Betting that he would not die, betting that Qi Changying could control himself.

If he won, he won. If he lost, he died.

In  life, one has to play some thrilling and exciting games to find meaning in their survival.

Although thunder rumbled overhead and a violent wind howled and swept across the world, Fu Sang instead felt that heaven and earth were exceptionally peaceful during that brief period.

In this deathly silence, he saw Qi Changying stop two steps away from him.

Then, very slowly, he knelt down on one knee toward him.

“Long time no see…”

Fu Sang saw Qi Changying smile at him.

As his eyes curved slightly, an ink-black tear fell from them.

Fu Sang watched the tear slowly split apart the Ten-Thousand-Deaths-Without-Reincarnation rune on his face, just like that night not long ago when he had taken the initiative to kiss him for the first time.

But Fu Sang did not respond or move.

He simply stood there in the wind, his eyes lowered, looking down at the Crimson Evil kneeling on one knee before him, enjoying his victory.

His gaze followed the dark tear as it traveled to Qi Changying’s chin.

The tip of his heart seemed to have been lightly plucked by something. A strange sensation grew there, as though the tear that was about to fall would land directly in his own heart.

But just as the tear finally fell, Fu Sang saw Qi Changying open his mouth.

The next second, he heard Qi Changying softly call out:

“…Ah Li.”

Something seemed to explode lightly with the sound of that name.

The delayed backlash struck his soul. A sweet, bloody taste surged into his throat, and Fu Sang suddenly coughed out a mouthful of blood.

The splattered blood landed on the doll placed to the side.

Fu Sang grabbed Qi Changying by the throat, but he no longer had the strength to exert any force.

He could only barely stand by holding onto Qi Changying’s shoulder.

“Who are you calling?…”

Fu Sang practically squeezed the words out from between his blood-soaked teeth.

The pleasure brought by the gamble had completely disappeared. The unfamiliar feeling had scattered before he could even savor it, and what remained in his body now was only a murderous intent screaming madly.

“You are…”

But in the next instant, the world spun before his eyes. Unfamiliar memories surged like a rising tide, the water flowing over the reefs and drowning his consciousness along with it.

He could not even finish a single sentence.

“Young Master Li, Mr. Shen sent me to deliver a gift! Where would you like me to put it?”

“What good stuff could Shen Huarong possibly have to send?”

“Ah… I wouldn’t dare answer that.”

“Put it on the ground.”

“Okay, Master. Then, don’t forget to take it!”

The area outside the tent became quiet. After a moment, a soft laugh came from behind.

Cold fingers gathered Su Li’s loose long hair from behind, and the fingertips accidentally touched the back of his neck, bringing a moment of fine chill.

“I heard that when human males reach fifteen, they should tie up all their long hair. This represents that they are no longer children. Why don’t you tie your hair, Master? Today is your fifteenth birthday.”

The boy’s voice was gentle. Standing behind Su Li, he helped weave ornaments into his long hair, and a gorgeous and complicated braid gradually took shape beneath his hands.

“Not interested.”

Su Li lowered his eyes, playing with a triangular snake bone in his hand.

Soon, the final hair ribbon was tied onto the braid, and it fell behind him.

Su Li slightly turned his face away.

“Go bring Shen Huarong’s things in.”

“Yes.”

Perhaps he had gotten tired of playing, Su Li casually tossed the snake bone aside. When he raised his eyes, his gaze fell on the bronze mirror in front of him.

The moment he borrowed Su Li’s eyes to see the person in the mirror clearly, Fu Sang was slightly stunned.

Although a bronze mirror was not as clear as a silver mirror, it was still clear enough to reflect the appearance of the person before him.

He had a pair of deep black eyes with a hint of dark shadows beneath them, pale skin, a narrow chin, and a youthful, immature face. The sharp angles among his features made him look cold and fierce, without the slightest trace of the innocence and carefree nature a boy his age should have had.

This was fifteen-year-old Su Li.

Although he was very unwilling to admit it, compared with fifteen-year-old Fu Sang, aside from not having a different-colored left eye, he really was exactly the same, without the slightest difference.

The boy who had gone out to fetch the gift soon returned, so Su Li’s gaze also moved away from the bronze mirror.

He received a wooden box.

A piece of paper was stuck on it, with “Gift from Shen Huarong” written hastily on it.

Su Li tore off the piece of paper and tossed it aside, directly opening the lid of the box. A faint fragrance from inside the box rushed toward him.

Lying inside the box was a folding fan.

Su Li took out the folding fan and opened it. Seeing that there were no ordinary patterns such as landscapes, flowers, or birds on the fan, the gift-giver had instead written some words on each of the front and back sides of the fan in flamboyant strokes…

[If it’s hot, use it to fan yourself; if the mouth is too cheap, use it to fan people]

Su Li seemed to roll his eyes slightly, closed the folding fan, and tossed it back into the wooden box.

“Master.”

Seeing that he had finished looking at the gift, the boy called out again.

“Mm.”

“I just heard from the little brothers at the entrance that the commander-in-chief has returned.”

The sound of the wooden box lid snapping shut was slightly heavy, making it seem particularly abrupt.

Su Li briefly calculated the date with his fingers.

“Wasn’t he supposed to return on the twenty-first? Today is only the fifteenth.”

“I don’t know. They said he hurried back. He has already arrived at the pass, and Mr. Shen has gone to receive him.”

“Mm.”

“Does Master want to go over?”

“I’m not going.”

Although that was what he said, Su Li put down the wooden box, thought for a moment, and still stood up.

He left the tent alone.

It was midsummer, and the northwest was dry and scorching. Even the sunlight felt hot against the skin.

Su Li narrowed his eyes and raised his head to look directly at the sun. Only after his eyes began to ache did he lower his gaze and look away.

He started walking toward the pass.

As he passed through rows upon rows of tents, the soldiers patrolling and training in the main camp saluted him. Su Li gave a faint nod in response, his pace not slowing in the slightest.

From a distance, the pass was indeed very lively, with a crowd gathered there.

Seeing Su Li approach, the originally tightly packed crowd all moved aside one after another, making way for him.

Su Li looked at them coldly.

One unfamiliar face after another disappeared from his field of vision. When the last person moved aside, Su Li finally saw someone standing with his back to him at the very back of the crowd.

The person was dressed in red and silver armor, with a qilin flying through clouds embroidered on the cape behind him. He was holding the reins of two horses, one white and one black, while chatting with another tall, slender man dressed in white.

It was the man in white who noticed Su Li first. He narrowed his fox-like eyes into a smile and lightly tapped the man’s shoulder armor with his folding fan, signaling for him to turn around.

The man was stunned for a moment, then followed the man in white’s gaze and turned his head.

His eyes quickly landed on Su Li.

Su Li stopped walking.

He also stared straight at him.

The man looked travel worn, and his hair was already somewhat disheveled. The loose strands over his forehead were blown by the wind across his face, his cheeks were a little dirty, but his eyes were exceptionally bright.

He handed the reins to the man in white and walked toward Su Li in large strides.

The sunlight was a little dazzling. Su Li slightly narrowed his eyes, lifting his gaze little by little as the man approached.

This person was much taller than him.

“Long time no see.”

Qi Changying smiled at him and raised his hand to gently touch the top of his head.

“You’ve grown taller again, Ah Li.”

……

The midsummer sunlight in his memory seemed to overlap hazily with another source of light. Both were warm-colored, and both were dazzling.

The cold winter night and the brilliant summer sun alternated and changed. The world before Fu Sang’s eyes spun, and blood kept surging up from his throat.

Reversing the incantation consumed an enormous amount of energy. In addition, the incantation he had seen in the notes was incomplete, and he had calculated and substituted the missing portions himself to fill in the gaps.

The incantation method was different from the original incantation, so forcibly initiating it would inevitably cause some backlash.

Fu Sang originally did not pay attention to any of this.

But now, he really did regret it a little.

If he had known earlier that after a certain ghost recovered its four senses, the first sentence it would say upon opening its mouth and when not yet conscious would be to call him by someone else’s name, he should have put in less effort.

It would have been better to cast a spell on the two ghosts and one demon and refine them together.

Someone was supporting him, preventing him from collapsing and falling to the ground.

Fu Sang tried hard to push the person away and gritted his teeth angrily.

“Get lost! Go die……”

“…No, who pissed him off again?!”

Zhuge Buhuo struggled to support Fu Sang, completely on the verge of breaking down.

“I’m trying to help you! What do you mean, telling me to go die? You really don’t know how to be grateful!”

“Young General! Are you all right?”

Huo Wei was checking Qi Changying’s condition nearby.

The violent, out-of-control yin energy from before had already completely calmed down, and the blood-colored storm above them had also dispersed along with it. Qi Changying had fallen to the ground, his eyes half-open, his gaze unfocused, motionless.

Huo Wei had no idea where to start, and even less idea how she would explain herself to Fu Sang afterward if Qi Changying remained in this unconscious state.

Her worries about her own future and her genuine concern for Qi Changying were mixed together, making Huo Wei feel like crying.

Fortunately, Qi Changying soon reacted. He blinked lightly, his blood-red pupils shrinking slightly as they came into focus.

“Oh, great, great……”

The dark future suddenly brightened again. Huo Wei hurriedly cast a communication spell on herself, then excitedly held up three fingers in front of Qi Changying.

“Are you all right? Can you see? Are you conscious? Come, come, tell me, what number is this?”

Qi Changying looked at her fingers, then shifted his gaze to her face and coughed twice.

“Miss Huo……”

“Ah! Good! Really good!”

Huo Wei hurriedly reported to Fu Sang.

“San You! Your ghost is fine! He can see, he can talk, and he’s conscious! Don’t be angry, don’t go crazy, calm down……”

“Let him die…! Get lost! Go die!!”

“…Huh?” Huo Wei had no idea what had happened.

Why had they fallen out again? Qi Changying hadn’t even done anything. Why had he suddenly stopped getting along with him again?

She looked at Qi Changying in a daze, only to see that in the blink of an eye, the ghost who had originally been in front of her had suddenly disappeared, leaving only a wisp of smoke beside her hand.

She looked in the direction the smoke drifted and discovered that Qi Changying had already arrived in front of Fu Sang, holding his face.

“Fu Sang……”

“…Get lost!”

One of Fu Sang’s arms was still draped over Zhuge Buhuo’s shoulder. Even though he no longer had any strength, he still angrily told Qi Changying to get lost.

But Qi Changying did not really understand what Fu Sang was angry about.

His consciousness was in a state of confusion for a while, and there was also a brief blank in his memory. The only image he remembered from what had just happened was Fu Sang standing amid the red light and raging wind. Before that was the darkness and silence of having lost his four senses, and after that was Huo Wei holding up her fingers and asking him what number it was.

Therefore, to him, Fu Sang’s anger had come very suddenly and inexplicably.

But Qi Changying did not care about that.

Compared with these things, he was more concerned about Fu Sang’s physical condition.

It looked like he had vomited a lot of blood, and his face was as pale as paper. He was in very poor condition.

Qi Changying frowned slightly and wiped the blood from Fu Sang’s face with his hand, but Fu Sang kept struggling with all his strength and was not obedient at all.

There was no other way. At that moment, the only way Qi Changying could find in his subconscious that might calm Fu Sang down was to hold his face and lower his head to kiss him.

His entire mouth was filled with the taste of blood.

“Ahh!”

Zhuge Buhuo let out a pained wail. He could neither escape nor get away, so he could only tightly shut his eyes and turn his face aside, refusing to look at the two of them.

Fortunately, this kiss ended quickly.

Fu Sang was like an enraged beast, biting whoever came close. He did not fall for any of Qi Changying’s tricks at all. He even seemed to have been driven mad by this kiss. After breaking free, he was too weak to hit him and could not even lift his leg to kick him, so he could only angrily spit blood foam at him.

Fu Sang was both angry and resentful, so much that his eyes ached.

Unlike the dreams he had had before, Qi Changying’s “Ah Li” this time had genuinely pierced his ears, making Fu Sang feel nauseous.

But actually, his inexplicable and abnormal anger was not only because of this.

He was angry that this ghost had taken it upon himself to bear the curse of Wuchang Judgment for him.

He was angry that, although he himself was the one who had removed the curse for him, when Qi Changying opened his mouth, he called someone else’s name instead.

Fu Sang was not unaware that Qi Changying had not been conscious at the time. But it was precisely because he had not been conscious that it was even more hateful.

Being unconscious represented the subconscious and instinct.

But Qi Changying’s instinct was called “Ah Li.”

Fu Sang was Qi Changying’s master. Whether alive or dead, this ghost could only call his name.

Qi Changying could be alive, and he could be dead, but he could only belong to him.

If that could not be done, then he would rather destroy all of this.

Of course, part of this anger had nothing to do with Qi Changying.

For example, the face of Su Li that he had seen in the memories was exactly the same as his own.

Judging from the mechanism of reincarnation, even if the souls were the same, a person’s appearance and personality in their past and present lives could not possibly be completely identical. The circumstances were often completely unrelated, or even worlds apart.

But the reason humans were human was because every individual had a unique personality, preferences, ways of thinking, and ways of handling matters.

If they were not different, they could not be considered the same person.

However, the Su Li in his memories, apart from the color of his left eye, was not different from him in the slightest.

Even though Fu Sang did not want to admit it, the fact was that the two of them had very similar personalities.

Presumably, this was also the reason Qi Changying had mistaken them.

This matter itself made Fu Sang feel even more disgusted than the mistaken identity.

What was Su Li, and how was he worthy of being similar to him?

How was he worthy of looking at his person, and how was he worthy of laying a hand on his ghost?

“Go… die…”

The anger rushed into his head, and another mouthful of blood surged into his throat. Fu Sang coughed, then lowered his head.

Blood dripped onto the ground, drop by drop, and the person made no more sound.

The enraged beast finally quieted down.

Suddenly feeling that the person on him had become much heavier, Zhuge Buhuo knew that Fu Sang had completely lost consciousness.

He wanted to find somewhere to put him down first. After all, it was not a solution to have him hanging on him the whole time.

“…I’ll do it.”

Qi Changying reached out and helped the person down from Zhuge Buhuo.

Zhuge Buhuo felt as if he had been granted a great pardon.

Qi Changying draped Fu Sang’s arm over his own shoulder, bent down, scooped up the backs of his knees, and carried him horizontally in his arms.

Huo Wei had the most sense of the situation and hurried to the car to open the door for him.

“Thank you.” Qi Changying nodded at her and placed Fu Sang in the back seat of the car.

After settling him down, he hesitated briefly before raising his hand and gently smoothing Fu Sang’s disheveled bangs.

When he lost his four senses, Fu Sang was his only connection to this world. The lingering intimacy and tenderness in that darkness finally struck Qi Changying’s heart hard at this moment of seeing the light again…if he still possessed such a thing as a heart.

He raised his eyes and looked at the person before him whom he had once kissed and touched with care.

Although he did not know why, this person really seemed to be extremely angry. Even after losing consciousness and falling into a coma, his brows were still knitted together.

Qi Changying lowered his eyes and carefully wiped the drops of blood splattered across his face with the pad of his finger.

Huo Wei stood beside him holding the car door, keeping her eyes lowered and minding her own business, looking at the sky and then the ground.

Until she heard Qi Changying’s still-gentle voice ask:

“May I ask, where is Anayi?”

“Ah, Anayi is…?” Huo Wei froze for a moment.

“…Sorry, I mean the Miao woman who was together with the gu demon.”

Huo Wei understood.

He was asking about that female ghost.

“There.”

Following the direction Huo Wei pointed, Qi Changying saw the female ghost leaning against the earth and stones, with a circle of talisman papers stuck around her body. Their purpose should have been to restrict her movements.

At this moment, she was kneeling there softly, her head lowered, her long hair falling loose and almost covering her entire face.

Qi Changying asked again, “Where is Ah Lang… the gu demon?”

“Oh, oh, the demon ran off just now. Chen San went after him… Oh, she’s back.”

Sure enough, in the distance, Chen Wuyue was carrying a cage woven from plant branches, with a many-legged black insect the length of an adult’s forearm inside.

Seeing this, Qi Changying withdrew his gaze and walked toward Anayi.

He knelt on one knee beside Anayi. After thinking for a moment, he looked at the talismans on her body, then raised his eyes to look at Huo Wei:

“Can these be removed?”

“Umm… Buhuo!”

Huo Wei called Zhuge Buhuo over:

“The Young General is asking if these talismans can be removed.”

“Huh? No, no.” Zhuge Buhuo shook his head repeatedly.

“These talismans are used to restrict her. What if we remove them and she goes berserk again or turns around and runs away?”

“She won’t.” Qi Changying told him, “If there is a problem, I will take responsibility for resolving it.”

“Uh… then that’s fine, I guess. You said it yourself…”

“Mm.”

Zhuge Buhuo had just experienced the oppressive feeling of a seventh-rank Crimson Evil, so he would not overestimate himself and question Qi Changying’s ability.

The reason his attitude was so awkward and reluctant was mainly because… communicating with a ghost like this was simply too strange!!

Although he had seen this member of the Fu Sang family before, he generally only stuck to Fu Sang and did not speak to people other than Fu Sang.

Therefore, counting on his fingers, this was still the first time Zhuge Buhuo had formally communicated with him.

The education Zhuge Buhuo had received since childhood was that underworld spirits existed outside reincarnation and were things that should not exist. The purpose of Nether path spirit masters was to help them escape their suffering and return to the proper path, or execute them on the spot so they could no longer wreak havoc upon the world.

Most of the underworld spirits he had seen were also strange-looking creatures with low intelligence that shrieked incoherently, and once they gained a little intelligence, their minds were filled with hate and killing.

The one from Fu Sang’s family was rather good-natured and had a strong human flavor, but its appearance was obviously not human. This sense of separation and contrast was simply…

It was no less than having the spicy chicken on the porcelain plate at the dinner table suddenly open its mouth and speak human language, telling him, “Sorry, can you not eat me?”

Zhuge Buhuo’s whole body prickled with discomfort, especially since he had just watched this ghost kiss Zhuge Fusang at close range.

He awkwardly undid the talismans on Anayi:

“…Do as you please!”

“Thank you.” Qi Changying nodded at him.

Then he raised his hand, held Anayi by the shoulder, and gently shook her:

“Anayi?”

Anayi slowly raised her head.

The strands of hair slid down both sides of her face, revealing her bluish-white face and a pair of gray-green eyes.

“Uh… sorry to interrupt, but she’s only first rank. Her soul is scattered and incomplete. She can’t understand what you’re saying, and she can’t respond to you either.”

Huo Wei reminded him in a low voice.

“I see.”

Qi Changying lowered his head and looked at his palm, seemingly thinking about something.

After a moment, wisps of yin energy drifted out from his hand.

He gathered the small mass of yin energy and pressed it against Anayi’s forehead.

The yin energy slowly merged into the center of Anayi’s brows, and the woman’s murky eyes gradually became clear.

“Anayi.”

Qi Changying called her again.

This time, Anayi blinked very lightly.

“…You still have something you want to say to Ah Lang, right?”

Author’s Note: A warning:

Someone is really, really angry. Although we’re already crazy, we’re going to get even crazier next. Although we’re already evil, we’re going to get even more evil. We’ll become worse, more immoral, and even less human.

Everyone might feel insanely satisfied, or you might find it a little hard to accept.

In any case, make sure you’re absolutely prepared!!!

Sorry! Sorry! I’m uploading only one chapter today cause I had some errands to run…took longer than expected. However, atleast it’s super long~ 🧡
