AMBTMS Chapter 57

The Boss's Favorite 19

“What reward do you want then? Hmm, how about I give you an autograph too?” Li Shu looked at the man in front of him, his eyes playful.

“Okay,” Mo Yanzhi replied in a solemn tone.

This time, it was Li Shu who was stunned for a moment. His words were mostly teasing, but he didn’t expect the man to answer seriously.

“Sign it when we get back, sign on…” The rest of the words disappeared between their lips.

Taking advantage of Li Shu’s momentary daze, Mo Yanzhi hooked his chin, the other hand resting on the back of Li Shu’s neck exerting a slight pressure. His hot breath sprayed onto Li Shu’s face, then their lips met.

A long and gentle kiss.

The car merged into the traffic and soon disappeared.

Lin Miao’s Weibo account was a verified one. She was a food blogger who liked to post her homemade dishes on Weibo, and sometimes shared her own recipes. She was kind and attentive, always ready to answer questions, and in just a few years, she had accumulated millions of fans.

Seven o’clock in the evening is the fixed time for her to interact with fans. As soon as the time arrived, many people were squatting under her Weibo, waiting for her to appear.

At exactly seven o’clock, Lin Miao came online. She first shared a new recipe, patiently answered questions from her fans, but even after the interactive session ended, she didn’t log off. Instead, she posted a group of pictures.

LovelyMiao: [Today, I met Little Brother Li Shu at the airport, he was so good looking and gentle! [Image.JPG] [Image.JPG] [Image.JPG] [Image.JPG] [Image.JPG] [Image.JPG] [Image.JPG] [Image.JPG] [Image.JPG]]

There were nine pictures, all taken at the airport and there were no filters used. Because of this, the person in the photos appeared even more outstanding.

He was a young man in his twenties, sometimes standing, sometimes sitting, sometimes facing forward, sometimes sideways, with a faint smile on his lips, bright and clear eyes that looked like they contained thousands of stars. The young man was wearing a simple white shirt, his hair fluffy and soft, and his features outstanding. The way he lowered his head to sign his name captured the hearts of many girls.

[Oh my god, today I finally saw what it means to be beautiful! [Drooling.JPG]]

[Ahhh! It’s Shu Shu! Did the food blogger I like fall for the same little brother? [Sudden excitement.JPG]]

[Miao Miao, what kind of luck is this? I also want to see Shu Shu in person! [Looking at you with envy.JPG]]

As if it was a signal, at the same time, several other big Vs posted photos of Li Shu signing autographs at the airport, and the popularity gradually increased. Because of “I’m Not a Star”, Li Shu had already gained some popularity, and now, he was once again pushed to the top of the hot search list.

Unlike last time, this time Qin Ran kept an eye on things from the beginning to prevent a repeat of last time’s incident. Fortunately, the people behind the scenes received a warning and didn’t do anything this time.

After that hot search incident, Chen Yu behaved much better and didn’t dare to make any moves on the show. Unless necessary, he did not even get close to Li Shu.

In the office, Qin Ran handed a notice to Li Shu, “Now your reputation has increased and there are some people who want you to endorse for them. I’ve selected a few, take a look and see which ones you might be interested in.”

“This too?” Li Shu took the not-so-thick stack of papers and asked.

“No, this is an invitation for a photoshoot from a magazine, ZERE. I suggest you take this one,” Qin Ran tapped the table, “Although it has been declining in recent years and is showing signs of being surpassed by some newcomers, it’s still considered a top-tier magazine domestically. It has been in operation for many years and has a solid foundation. Taking this would be beneficial and harmless.”

What Qin Ran didn’t say was that although ZERE was experiencing a downward trend, such resources weren’t something that anyone could easily enjoy. ZERE was a long established magazine with many years of operation, and its position in the fashion industry was not to be underestimated.

Li Shu opened the document. Because he had to live out the original owner’s life, he had already roughly understood the situation of the entertainment circle in this world. He knew Qin Ran was right and nodded, “Okay.”

Qin Ran: “Then I’ll contact the editor-in-chief of ZERE later. “I’m Not a Star” is about to end, and the filming date for “Seeking the Sword” has been set. As the second male lead, you’ll have to attend the opening ceremony when the time comes.”

Li Shu: “Okay, I got it.”

Qin Ran looked at Li Shu and felt extremely satisfied. Despite Li Shu’s lack of achievements at the moment, he believed that Li Shu’s future achievements would be huge.

Mo Lan Entertainment was a star-making factory under the Mo family’s umbrella. It has brought the Mo Group a lot of income over the years. Especially after Shen Yu became the president, Mo Lan’s development was thriving.

The Mo family was wealthy and powerful, and Mo Lan Entertainment occupied an entire building in the city center. The interior was also very luxurious, with state-of-the-art facilities. Sometimes, people from other companies or studios would come here to rent equipment.

Li Shu walked downstairs, and a tall man in a black suit approached him. This was the driver and bodyguard Mo Yanzhi had arranged to accompany him.

The assistant followed behind Li Shu. Although it wasn’t the first time he had seen this brother, he still felt a great sense of respect. He had witnessed firsthand how this bodyguard subdued malicious people more than once.

“Mr. Li, there’s a small disturbance over there,” the bodyguard said, breaking his usual silence.

“What’s going on?” Li Shu asked.

He wasn’t the type to meddle in other people’s affairs, so he was ready to leave after asking casually.

[Host, the protagonist shou is over there.] 1314 reminded.

One sentence stopped Li Shu in his tracks. He remembered that the protagonist shou was Su Qing, the rabbit-like boy.

Just as Li Shu was about to ask the system what was happening over there, the bodyguard spoke first, “Mr. Li, there are two people arguing over there. Would you like to go and see?”

“Let’s go see.”

Their car happened to be parked nearby, and they would have to pass by anyway.

The assistant opened his mouth as if to say something but stopped himself. He knew Li Shu always had his own plans, and Qin Ran had instructed him not to interfere with Li Shu’s decisions.

As they got closer, the voices from over there became clearer. Li Shu’s ears twitched, and he could make out Su Qing’s voice.

Not far away, two people were arguing in low voices.

One of them grabbed the other person’s arm and said in a bad tone, “Su Qing, just because you hooked up with the young master of the Wei family doesn’t mean you can do whatever you want!”

“I don’t understand what you’re talking about?” Su Qing retorted. “I’m not even close to the young master of the Wei family!”

“Not close, huh,” the person’s tone became more mocking, “If you’re not close, then why did he kick me out of the crew just to vent his anger at you? Su Qing, oh Su Qing, I used to consider you a friend…”

“Do you consider me a friend?” Su Qing stopped struggling. He stood still, his eyes turning cold, “Yao Hua, do you not feel guilty saying that?”

Yao Hua’s face changed slightly, “What do you mean?”

“There are things I don’t say, but it doesn’t mean I don’t know. Yao Hua, do you really think I’m that stupid? You know what you’ve done, do you want me to spell it out for you?”

Su Qing took a deep breath. He might have just entered the entertainment circle, but it didn’t mean he was a fool. Yao Hua had approached him with a purpose from the beginning and made no attempt to hide it. Since that was the case, he didn’t need to be polite to anyone.

After breaking free from Yao Hua’s grip, Su Qing was about to leave when he caught sight of three figures approaching them from the corner of his eyes, and one of them was very familiar. Su Qing stopped in his tracks.

It was Li Shu and his group.

“Brother Li!” Su Qing’s previous unhappiness disappeared, and his tone became cheerful.

Yao Hua, who was beside him, quickly adjusted his expression and greeted, “Brother Li.”

Although Li Shu wasn’t considered popular yet, anyone with a bit of insight could see his status in Mo Lan. Since they were all artists under Mo Lan, there was no reason for anyone to embarrass Li Shu without cause.

“What are you guys doing here?” Li Shu asked.

“Nothing,” Su Qing glanced at Yao Hua beside him, his eyes faintly oppressive. He didn’t want Li Shu to know about the things he could handle on his own.

“It’s good if there’s nothing wrong,” Li Shu looked around, “Isn’t your assistant here? Where are you going? I can give you a ride.”

Su Qing obediently reported an address, which happened to be on the way to where Li Shu was going. Li Shu walked to the car and invited him to join.

Before getting into the car, Li Shu glanced at Yao Hua standing not far away and said with a meaningful tone, “Sometimes, backing down doesn’t mean others will give up easily. In this circle, don’t think that everyone’s hearts are beautiful.”

He said this because the protagonist shou in the original plot was too kind, and he was taken advantage of again and again because of this, suffering from injuries all over. If kindness only brought harm, what good was there in holding onto it?

“I understand, thank you, Brother Li,” Su Qing lowered his head, a flash of darkness in his eyes. When he raised his head again, that darkness had disappeared without a trace, leaving only slightly reddened eyes.

Su Qing had a non-threatening appearance, with delicate and beautiful features, and clear eyes. Now with his reddened eyes, he looked even more like a rabbit.

He was still a boy of less than twenty years. Li Shu patted his hair, “If you have any problems, you can come to me.”

As for the protagonist shou’s background, it was full of dog blood. He was supposed to be a young master of a wealthy family but grew up in an orphanage, enduring various unfair treatments while maintaining a pure heart. If those men hadn’t intervened in his life, he wouldn’t have been dragged into the mud and stained his heart black.

Su Qing’s hand hanging at his side clenched tightly, as if trying to grasp onto the only light. However, his face didn’t show any abnormality, just a bit of embarrassment, “Won’t it be too much trouble for you, Brother Li?”

“It won’t.”

On the way, Su Qing looked at Li Shu, sometimes openly and sometimes secretly. Li Shu leaned against the car wall, his eyes slightly closed. Scattered fragments of light fell on him, making him look like an exiled immortal.

“Mr. Li, the boss said we should pick him up on the way.” Amidst the silence, a voice suddenly rang out.

“Well, drop Su Qing off first.” This wasn’t the first time such a situation had occurred, so Li Shu didn’t pay too much attention.

“Okay.”

The place Su Qing was going to wasn’t far, and they arrived in just a few minutes. After getting out of the car, Su Qing watched the departing car. He didn’t look away until it merged into the traffic and could no longer be seen.

He took out his phone and looked at the dialing interface. After a while, he dialed the number he had memorized by heart, “I’ve considered what you said last time. Don’t forget your promise.”

Meanwhile, Li Shu met Mo Yanzhi downstairs of the Mo Group. As soon as he got in the car, Mo Yanzhi hugged him and said aggrievedly, “Shu Shu, don’t pay too much attention to others, okay?”
