Dd Chapter 25

Dd 25

After “exercising” all morning, the two of them were hungry and went to the dining hall together after getting ready.

As they walked into the dining hall one after the other, they suddenly noticed that someone was already seated at the table. Wang Zihe was surprised to see Mo Yi, who was eating elegantly.

Mo Xijue, on the other hand, had no reaction and sat down not far from Mo Yi.

However, Wang Zihe did not sit down. Instead, he chose to stand behind Mo Xijue, as if he were a real butler.

Mo Yi happened to look up from his meal at that moment and locked eyes with Wang Zihe. He still wore the same cold and serious expression on his face, and there was no emotion to be found in his sharp and bright amber-colored eyes.

“Has the hotel started construction yet?” After chewing on a tender piece of beef in his mouth, Mo Xijue asked Mo Yi.

“It has already begun, and it’s going smoothly,” Mo Yi answered calmly.

After finishing all the food, Mo Xijue wiped his mouth and suddenly turned to look at Wang Zihe. He smiled slightly at Mo Yi and said, “Mr. Wang Zihe has decided to work for me for a year to exempt himself from designing the underwater secret room.”

Both of them were staring at him, and Wang Zihe couldn’t help but be stunned. After hearing Mo Xijue’s words, he blinked his charming and somewhat pitiful peach blossom eyes at Mo Yi, appearing to have a hard-to-express inner struggle.

After drinking a glass of wine, Mo Yi’s mouth gradually curved upwards as he stared at Wang Zihe. “Since the profession of an architect can be easily given up, can Mr. Wang Zihe also consider working for me?”

He naturally understood the complicated relationship between Wang Zihe and his father, as well as why his father suddenly made it clear. It was like a lion leader declaring his power and authority to weaker opponents. But it was all too ridiculous; what value was there to possess in Wang Zihe? He was nothing but a friend with benefits.

After living in the company for two weeks, he had completely figured out his feelings for Wang Zihe. Admittedly, he did have some affection towards him, but it was too faint and could be completely diluted in a few months. There would be no trace left.

However, his father’s provocative attitude towards him today made him somewhat uncertain. He didn’t know whether it was his father’s perverse game or whether Wang Zihe had really gained a place in his heart, but he felt uncomfortable.

He intentionally tested the waters, no matter whether the two guesses were correct or not, since his father had already sent him an invitation into his game, he would not refuse it. No one would know who the ultimate winner would be until the end. After all, unknown games were always full of surprises.

After hearing Mo Yi’s sudden question, Wang Zihe did not panic or feel lost. Instead, he smiled politely and formulaically, “I would be honored to serve both of you at the same time.”

This ambiguous response seemed unlikely to offend either side, but in front of two smart and formidable people, it was highly likely to turn into offending both sides. However, Wang Zihe, who had always been in a disadvantaged position, had no choice but to make this choice.

Although the situation seemed very severe, he had his own set of ideas. In this game, he was confident that he would be the ultimate winner because often, the seemingly disadvantaged side was the safest and most secure. Being small and weak enough would cause him to be overlooked, he would wait and create opportunities to launch his final fatal blow.

Everyone knows the saying “ the praying mantis catches cicada”, but no one knows that behind the mantis, there is an oriole.

Mo Xijue asked, slightly surprised after hearing Wang Zihe’s response. “Oh, so you can serve two people at the same time? It seems that I have underestimated you a bit,” he said with a smile.

“I see. Then tonight, you can come to my room,” Mo Yi said as he stood up and walked past Wang Zihe, leaving the dining hall without a second glance.

“Don’t let me down…” Mo Xijue was not angry with Mo Yi’s request for Wang Zihe. He stood up and walked over to Wang Zihe, gently rubbing his hair and smiling without a hint of worry on his face. His handsome face appeared even more gentle, like sweet honey that could completely melt a person’s heart, it was exceedingly sweet and warm.

Then Mo Xijue also left the dining hall, leaving Wang Zihe alone standing at the table.

At this moment, his lowered eyes showed no emotion, but a moment later, he suddenly looked up and smiled brightly at Butler Li, who was standing a little further away. “Uncle Li, could you please bring me a meal? If it’s Chinese food, even better. I want to drink corn and pork rib soup.”

Uncle Li was a very honest butler, and was a higher-level servant. He was paid handsomely by the Mo family to do his job and never crossed any boundaries because he knew that none of the employers in this house were easy to deal with.

To him, Wang Zihe was gradually integrating his position in the house, resembling the master of the house. He couldn’t have any complaints about this because he could tell that Wang Zihe and several members of the Mo family had ambiguous relationships. Therefore, he basically listened to Wang Zihe’s orders and never refused him.

It goes without saying that he was an extremely intelligent old man, which was probably the true reason why he was qualified for this job.

“Just wait a moment, I will prepare it for you now,” said Uncle Li. He then instructed the maids to come in and tidy up the dining room while sending the others to notify the kitchen to prepare some Chinese food.

In no time, the fragrant food, emitting hot steam, was brought up. Wang Zihe lifted the lid and smelled the delicious aroma, showing a satisfied smile. He then scooped up a mouthful of the delicious soup with a spoon, blowing gently on it before sipping it into his mouth. Instantly, a warm current spread throughout his body, and he felt much of his fatigue dissipating.

Wang Zihe, who had been hungry for a long time, slowly ate the food in front of him. He felt that the heavy pressure on his body had been relieved, and he became more relaxed.

After ordering the servants to clean up the plates, Wang Zihe left the dining room. With his stomach full, he felt much better and the pressure and gloom that had been haunting him all along also dissipated.

Autumn in S city was not too cold, and the plants were still vibrant green with no signs of yellowing. Wang Zihe looked at the clear weather outside the window and walked into the courtyard. He felt the warm sunshine on his body and the perfect outdoor temperature, taking a deep breath.

After instructing the maid beside him to serve him afternoon tea and dismissing her, he lazily sat alone in the chair. His eyes were unfocused, staring at the distant scenery like still water, lost in thought.

Not long after, perhaps because of the good weather, the comfortable warmth of the sun, or his recent exhaustion, Wang Zihe had already closed his eyes, peacefully entering into slumber.
