The Heartthrob Protagonist Just Wants To Monopolize Me Chapter 4

It’s eleven o’clock and the school building is going to be locked! This student!!! Hurry up and go back to the dormitory!”

The voice of the night patrol teacher suddenly rang out at the classroom door.

Yu Ning was startled for a moment and reflexively hid the plan book behind him.

“Hurry up, hurry up!” The night patrol teacher saw that his desk had not even been cleared and urged him on.

At that moment, Yu Ning’s mind was in turmoil and the plan book is his hands felt hot.

Almost instinctively, he opened the binder of Ji Mingxia’s plan book, quickly pulled out the first page and stuffed it into his exercise book.

At the urging of the night patrol teacher, Yu Ning shoved the planner back into Ji Mingxia’s drawer, then slowly walked out of the classroom, holding the exercise book with the page of the love plan.

It rained all the way.  Yu Ning held the exercise book tightly in his arms. It was only when he entered the dormitory that he tucked the exercise book, which had not been wet, into the least noticeable corner of the bookshelf.

Inside the boys’ dormitory, everyone was busy with their own business.

No one cared whether Yu Ning had returned or not.

That kind of indifference rarely made Yu Ning feel at ease.

After hiding the book, Yu Ning walked towards the bathroom with his damp hair.

While passing by Ji Mingxia’s bed, Yu Ning glanced at it from the corner of his eyes.

Ji Mingxia was not in bed.

The toilet was connected to the bathroom but it was also empty.

Since Ji Mingxia was not in the dormitory, he wondered where he had gone.

Yu Ning lowered his head, preparing to turn on the water to take a shower as usual.

The dormitory facilities in the county high school were relatively old, especially for the boys who lived in that dormitory building. It was the most dilapidated place in the whole school.

There were six people living in each dormitory, and although there were separate toilets and bathrooms, the shower equipment in the bathrooms used leftover solar power from more than ten years ago.

If you go back to the dormitory earlier in the evening, there would still be free hot water for bathing.

But if you’re not careful and are late, you’d be left with cold water.

In case you want to continue using the hot water, you have to use your campus card to pay for it.

Funan County was an ordinary county with a low per capita consumption level. High school students have limited pocket money, let alone orphans like Yu Ning.

He was able to attend high school solely on the basis of his top grades. The school gave him a waiver on tuition, food and other expenses. Although he received a bonus of a few hundred yuan per semester, he used it all to buy study materials.

Of course, he was not the only one who was short of money.

If one came back late and couldn’t afford it, there was the option of going to the warden’s room on the ground floor to borrow an electric heating rod to boil water.

The boys’ dormitory was managed by a middle-aged couple who had worked at the school for decades, and were very kind and friendly to the students.

Unfortunately, that did not include Yu Ning, so he never went down there.

Just then, Yu Ning suddenly heard Chen Zhen shout out, “Mingxia, how do you solve that big problem the teacher talked about this afternoon? Do you remember it? I don’t remember the formula at all.”

The voice that answered him was Zhao Zhouyue’s, “Mingxia is not here, he went downstairs to boil water.”

“Boil water?” Chen Zhen said strangely, “Didn’t he already take a bath? I took one after him and there was hot water.”

“Seems like he is planning to boil a some as back up? I don’t know anymore, haven’t we all bathed?” Zhao Zhouyue muttered.

Zhao Zhouyue’s voice was not loud, but because his bed was set up against the wall, Yu Ning, who was in the bathroom, could hear him just fine.

However, he was not affected by Zhao Zhouyue and Chen Zhen’s words, and continued to go about his business in an orderly manner.

He was the only one who hadn’t taken a bath in the whole dormitory.

‘But would Ji Mingxia go downstairs just to boil water for me?’

Just having that thought made Yu Ning almost burst into laughter.

It was just an inexplicably written love plan.
By drawing a heart between his name and Ji Mingxia’s, and writing the word love, he was expected to believe that Ji Mingxia did not intend to set him up, additionally hoped to help him?
Impossible.’
He had been taunted so many times since he was a child that he would not trust someone so easily.
‘I’m going to keep taking cold showers and not give anyone a chance to tease me!’
……
A minute later, Ji Mingxia, who was boiling water on the ground floor, was almost taken aback when he looked at Yu Ning, who had suddenly appeared beside him
Ji Mingxia had come down ten minutes ago.
The tool the dormitory warden had provided to boil water was an ordinary electric rod which was to be inserted into a bucket to boil water through heat conduction.
Ji Mingxia’s parents had both unexpectedly passed away in a car accident during his junior year, leaving Ji Mingxia and his grandmother in the countryside to live with each other.
Although there was only one old and one young in the family, it was fortunate that his parents had left behind a substantial inheritance, enough to last him for most of his life.
His pocket money was not comparable to a tycoon’s, but he had plenty of money for his daily expenses.
The hot water at school was not expensive, and the electric rod burned slowly. Not only was it a waste of time, but it was also unsafe. In his own world, Ji Mingxia had never paid to take a hot shower, nor had he ever used that thing at all.
Therefore, the hot water, naturally, was not boiled for his own use.
In order to help Yu Ning expel the ghost, he pretended to go into the classroom to get his homework book. Although he succeeded in driving the ghost away, he fell too hard.
On his way to the dormitory, he had to endure the burning bruises on his body while trying to correct the strange thoughts his roommates got, so it was impossible for him to propose that he and Yu Ning would share an umbrella together.
The rain outside the window was getting heavier and heavier, and by the time the fifth person in the dorm had taken a shower, there was only warm water left, so when Yu Ning returned, there definitely wouldn’t be any hot water to use.
If Yu Ning got a cold, fever, or illness, he wouldn’t get into a top college or meet Pei Yuan. If he was not careful, it would change the trajectory of his life, and even the trajectory of the entire book. Ji Mingxia, who was just a supporting role, as a rookie chicken was really a pill.
For the sake of his own life, and to make up for the guilt of snatching Yu Ning’s umbrella away, Ji Mingxia found an opportunity to go downstairs alone and boil water.
He originally planned to wait for Yu Ning to return to find an opportunity to give a bucket of hot water to use.
But it turned out that the electric heater was a little more difficult to operate than he had imagined, so Ji Mingxia spent a long time tinkering with it before finally succeeding in boiling the water under the guidance of the managing auntie.
He had just breathed a sigh of relief, halfway through boiling the water when he looked up and saw Yu Ning standing beside him, quietly watching him.
It was raining heavily outside, and the ground floor corridor was extra draughty. The cold summer breeze rustled, blowing out the feeling of autumn and winter.
Yu Ning stood there quietly, the light from the corridor reflected on his face, casting sharp shadows. In the darkness of the night, one black and one grey pupil, coupled with the delicate features made him look like a beautiful ghost that had come from the rain, which made it hard to ignore him.
Ji Mingxia had not yet adapted to Yu Ning’s appearance, plus he was currently feeling guilty so he did not dare to look at Yu Ning.
He pulled the corners of his mouth at Yu Ning, smiling dryly and quickly averted his eyes, pretending to be seriously waiting for the water to boil.
A few moments later, when Ji Mingxia felt that it was almost time, he slowly shifted his gaze back.
As soon as he looked up, he found Yu Ning still standing in the same place, in the same position as before, quietly staring at him.
Ji Mingxia’s entire body felt unwell.
That was the gaze of the protagonist.
‘As a chicken supporting character, I can’t handle it!’
