The Heartthrob Protagonist Just Wants To Monopolize Me Chapter 75.1

Zhou Mei and Zhou Tao, who should have died long ago, had returned to Banana Leaf Village in good health, and then the whole village was thrown into the gloom of the ghost knocking on the door.

Ji Mingxia had just zeroed in on them as suspects for sucking the villagers’ life expectancy to extend their lives, and he was surprised to find that they were moving today.

His first reaction was to think that this was not a coincidence and that it was probably a trick.

But the movers coming in and out didn’t look like they were pretending..

“My mother’s cancer has recurred and she needs to undergo treatment. So my dad and I have to go take care of her.” Zhou Tao said, “I don’t know what to expect with this disease but in case of a seizure, she has to be rescued in time. That is why we decided to temporarily close the supermarket and leave the village. We’ll come back when she recovers.”

Zhou Tao played with the copper coin bracelet hanging on his wrist: “And you, how did you do in the college entrance exam?”

“Not bad, played about as usual but the scores are not out yet.” Ji Mingxia glanced at his bracelet and said to Zhou Tao, “I came back yesterday and your supermarket was still fine. I didn’t expect to move out today without any news……”

“There was no need to flaunt it so that the whole village knows.” Zhou Tao said, “I did not expect to meet you before leaving, do you want to go to my house and sit down?”

Ji Mingxia glanced at the supermarket not far away, and then looked at Zhou Tao.

Zhou Tao was looking to the side the whole time, one eye kept looking in an unknown direction and the other eye was looking at him and waiting for his reply.

Ji Mingxia pondered for two seconds and finally said, “Okay.”

Zhou Tao led Ji Mingxia towards the mini-supermarket. It was noon, the sun was hanging in the sky and it was the hottest time of the day, but the closer to the mini-supermarket, the lower the temperature became.

The entrance of the mini-supermarket was fine. The sun was shining, the people going in and out the supermarket were drenched in sweat so no it didn’t seem so obvious.

But upon entering the mini-supermarket, Ji Mingxia only felt a chill. The entire mini-mart seemed to be shrouded in a damp cold air.

Ji Mingxia unconsciously rubbed his arms and turned his head to look at Zhou Tao, but found that Zhou Tao had been looking at him.

Zhou Tao stood beside him, the front of his face was facing forward, but because he was cross eyes, the eyes were skewed to the very corner and he could look to the side without turning his head.

Having been caught, Zhou Tao slowly turned his head back. But immediately after, Zhou Tao turned back his head and smiled at Ji Mingxia as he said: “The air conditioning is on too low so it’s a little cold. You sit first, I’ll pour some hot water for you.”

Ji Mingxia wanted to refuse but Zhou Tao had already walked away without a word.

The supermarket was being reorganized so everything was a mess. Zhou Tao bypassed a shelf and disappeared in a flash, leaving Ji Mingxia standing alone.

Seeing this, Ji Mingxia also did not sit down, but walked around the supermarket.

There was a heavy ghost energy in the supermarket and the ring on his finger kept flashing with a constant red light. However, he did not find traces of ghosts at any point.

In the end, Ji Mingxia could only focus his eyes on the walls.

Business people were more superstitious, and they always enshrined something to have peace of mind.

Ji Mingxia grew up in the village, so he was not surprised by such things.

According to his understanding, most of the villagers worship Guan Yu.

Guan Yu, also called Guan Gong, represented the god of Wealth and he was the most suitable for business people’s worship. However, because the god of Wealth has some association to evil, he was usually enshrined in the location facing the door or window in order to disperse the evil energy, that way, only wealth is kept and disaster is chased.

But this mini supermarket was the opposite.

First of all, the idol of Guan Yu was enshrined, however, the face was not that of the God of Wealth.

The idol had a white face, a black beard, and was wearing green and red, holding a chain of copper coins.

The chain was extremely long, extending from the hand of the idol down to it’s feet. The end pointed straight ahead, as if the chain was going to bind the worshipper in the next instant.

The idol was placed in the darkest corner of the supermarket and at the height of an average person. Light couldn’t hit it and even if there were indoor lights, people’s shadows would always block it no matter where they stood.

This idol would feel strange to ordinary people, let alone Ji Mingxia who could see things that ordinary people could not see.

The entire mini-mart was chilly, and the area around the idol was the coldest.

At that moment, Ji Mingxia looked at the idol, and the idol quietly stood there, as if it was also looking at him.

Ji Mingxia look carefully and suddenly found that the idol’s eyes were slightly skewed.

One eye kept looking ahead while the other slightly looked up. The porcelain face with a cold grayish tint didn’t have any hint of a god’s righteousness, it only looked like a demon crawling out of the underworld.

A bright light suddenly flashed from in front of the idol and it was as if the idol had turned one eye to look at him, as if measuring him up!

Ji Mingxia was startled and took a slightly stepped back, only to accidentally bump into the person behind him.

He turned his head and found that Zhou Tao had been standing behind him, for an unknown amount of time.

Seeing Ji Mingxia look at him in shock, Zhou Tao handed over the glass of water and said apologetically, “Im sorry, I scared you.”

“It’s okay.” Ji Mingxia quickly gathered his composure. He took the glass of water as if nothing was wrong, but he did not intend to drink it.

“This is our family’s longevity master. Before my mother went to the hospital, she specially asked me to carry it personally. I won’t be neglectful and I will take carry it myself packing.” Zhou Tao then said, “By the way Mingxia, can I ask you to help me with one thing?”

“What is it?” Ji Mingxia’s heart skipped a beat and he asked calmly.

“Auntie Cheng ordered a bag of seafood from me yesterday but it will only arrive in the evening. The truck driver is in a hurry and must start off before the evening so I am afraid I can’t deliver it to her. Can you collect the goods for me and deliver them to Auntie Cheng’s house?” Zhou Tao said, “the supermarket closed in a hurry and it was the last order. I don’t want to disappoint her.”

“Auntie Cheng?” Ji Mingxia was a bit confused.

Zhou Tao added: “Forget it if it’s inconvenient. I will come back tonight and deliver it to her personally.”

Ji Mingxia thought about it and said, “Its okay, I’ll deliver it for you.”

“Then, thank you so much!” Zhou Tao’s face instantly showed his strange bright smile again.

Although Zhou Tao’s supermarket was not big, the goods were complicated and it took a whole day to take inventory and move the things.

“these people and their ugly ass cross-eyed frog faces” please, I hope people will be more mindful with their words. You just insulted actual people. I don’t think it was with ill intentions towards actual people, but it’s still hurtful

Something’s up with these people and their ugly ass cross-eyed frog faces. The ghost as well as the idol had that feature as well so something’s definitely up with that 🧐
