The Only Normal Human In The Universe Chapter 89

An Yan was not surprised by Zhao Xinxin’s violent reaction, or should he say, this was exactly what he wanted to see.

He had deliberately exchanged words with Zhao Xinxin and paved the way for so long, not because he had too much free time. After all, even if he had more time, he would not be willing to have any interaction with someone like Zhao Xinxin.

He did this to convince Zhao Xinxin that he had produced a discarded potion, and then he would be able to see Zhao Xinxin’s wonderful performance under such a huge perception gap.

In fact, Zhao Xinxin did not disappoint him, as she looked like a madwoman at that moment.

Her eyes were wide open and bloodshot. Her delicate face was completely distorted, which made her look a bit frightening.

An Yan looked at Zhao Xinxin and spoke in an extraordinarily calm tone, “Since you think there is something wrong with the testing equipment, let’s get another testing equipment.”

Zhao Xinxin stared at An Yan with a ragged breath. She was now going crazy!

She was sure that An Yan had produced a discarded potion, and she had even thought about how she would spread the word so that everyone would know that her potion-making skills were far superior to An Yan.

But to her surprise, she ended up with this result!

Lies! It was all lies!

Even though the facts were right in front of her, Zhao Xinxin still refused to believe that she was too naïve. She felt that she was right and that An Yan must have made a discarded potion! That must be it!

So even though she vaguely sensed that something was wrong in An Yan’s calm manner, Zhao Xinxin, who was on the verge of going crazy, still chose to manually extinguish the possibility.

She was right!

She refused to accept the truth before her eyes not only because her previous suspicions were so certain that she could almost call them deep-rooted, but also because her head had become difficult to use in the heat of anger.

She did not have the courage to bear the consequences of her mistake.

She thought that this would be a good opportunity for her to fight back, but instead of stepping on An Yan’s toes, she had put herself in an even more embarrassing position.

Under such circumstances, she certainly could not, and dared not, admit that she had blundered.

So, in the face of An Yan’s words, Zhao Xinxin immediately took it: “Okay, let’s get another testing instrument!”

At this time, Zhang Cheng had recovered from the doubts about his self-knowledge and was now very disgusted with Zhao Xinxin.

However, since An Yan was the one who first proposed replacing the testing instrument, he did not refuse: “I will take you to the professor’s pharmacy lab to have the potion tested.”

Although the testing instruments used by the students were very advanced, they were certainly no match for the ones used by the professors.

An Yan seriously thanked him, “Thank you, Professor Zhang. I’ll trouble you. ”

“Zhao Xinxin realized that she had just lost her temper in front of everyone, including the professor who was teaching this practical course.

Although she was still in an extremely panicked and angry mood, she tried to restrain her emotions: “Thank you, Professor.”

Professor Zhang didn’t even give Zhao Xinxin a glance; he just nodded and said, “Let’s go.”

An Yan was about to follow when he turned his head and saw the other students who were looking blearily at him. After a moment’s pause, he asked, “Professor Zhang, can you let the other students come over too?”

Didn’t Zhao Xinxin first attract the attention of the other students in order to set him up?

Now that An Yan was using the same method on her, it would be considered a courtesy, right?

In theory, it was best not to have too many people in the lab used by the professors, but after thinking about what had just happened, Zhang Cheng nodded, “Then everyone should follow along. But, you must keep quiet at all times when you get to the lab. In addition, the items in the lab must never be touched. Got it?”

“Got it!” Everyone replied in a cheerful tone.

So An Yan and Zhao Xinxin, as well as a large group of students from the same major, followed Professor Zhang and poured into the pharmacy lab used by the professors.

There happened to be a few professors in the lab who were drinking tea and chatting outside the lab when they suddenly saw so many students pouring in. They thought that these students were using the place as a practical classroom and were about to let them out when they saw Zhang Cheng.

“Old Zhang, what’s going on here?” A professor asked.

Zhang Cheng didn’t say much about what had just happened and only said lightly, “There might be a problem with the testing equipment in the practice classroom, so I brought the students over to retest it.”

The professor’s colleague frowned and said, “Aren’t the testing instruments in the practice classrooms all new ones that have been replaced just recently? They couldn’t have gone wrong so quickly, right? ”

Zhang Cheng didn’t explain much. He just waved his hand and said, “Go on talking about your work. We’ll go back after testing the potion.”

However, the professor’s colleague became curious and followed him with his cup of tea: “What kind of potion is it? I want to have a look too. ”

Zhang Cheng didn’t say much and took An Yan directly to the testing equipment, “An Yan, put the potion bottle in.”

An Yan nodded and put the potion bottle into the testing device, and all eyes were immediately glued to the exit of the test results.

In a short time, the test results came out. An Yan took them out and looked at them before handing them to Zhao Xinxin. “Zhao Xinxin, do you have anything else to say now?”

Zhao Xinxin’s face turned white and blue, blue and red, red and white, and black as she looked at the exact same test results as the previous ones. It looked so wonderful.

Her eyes were fixed on the test results, but she didn’t utter a single word for a long time.

An Yan didn’t embarrass her too much, because he didn’t need to. Zhao Xinxin was already embarrassing herself to death.

“Thank you, Professor Zhang; now that the potion’s test results are available, we can…” An Yan turned to Zhang Cheng to thank him, but before he could finish his sentence, he was interrupted by a shrill voice that had been held in for awhile.

“Impossible!” Zhao Xinxin looked like she had only just found her voice and appeared to be struggling to harness it. “You must have secretly switched the potions tested. Otherwise, how could it have such a result!”

An Yan: “……” I didn’t expect that even when things had come to this extent, Zhao Xinxin would still refuse to give up. Should I praise her persistence or should I say she is stupid?

Zhang Cheng was also a bit annoyed.  He looked at Zhao Xinxin, who was still being unreasonable and was about to open his mouth to reprimand, but he heard An Yan speak first.

“Since you insist on suspecting me, then I will just make a new potion and test it. You should be satisfied then, right?” An Yan replied cheerfully.

Zhao Xinxin, however, said unforgivingly, “Who knows if you will still make the potion according to the wrong operation you just did?”

An Yan lightly raised his eyebrows and smiled as he asked in return, “So you’ve been peeking at my potion making process?”

Zhao Xinxin’s face turned red at the question, but there was no way to refute it, and she choked even more in her heart.

The others heard these words, and they looked at Zhao Xinxin in an even stranger way. As Cheng Yang had said, Zhao Xinxin had been calculating An Yan from the beginning.

Zhao Xinxin really was such a person! It was obvious that she did something wrong and hurt An Yan, but instead of correcting her mistake, she even intensified her attempt to set An Yan up?! She was simply too vicious!

Besides, just by looking at this matter at hand, her suspicions were not based on any evidence at all, yet she still rushed up to denigrate An Yan time and again. Only someone with such a good temper as An Yan would have tolerated this until now.

While they were getting increasingly annoyed with Zhao Xinxin, their feelings towards An Yan also improved.

An Yan only asked one question, and then skipped over this point: “Zhao Xinxin, you are questioning and slandering me without any evidence. I have already been very forgiving and agreed to recreate the potion for testing. What more do you want? Do you have to force me into confessing to a trumped up charge before you can be satisfied?”

The professor, who had just come over to check on the situation, had already seen the general idea from the conversation between the two. As he was not a freshman pharmacy professor, he did not need to take much into account like Zhang Cheng. He spoke up unceremoniously, “This student, if she suspects you of forgery, then she should produce evidence. You don’t have to lower yourself because of this groundless slander. ”

An Yan didn’t expect this professor, whom he had never seen before, to speak up for him. He couldn’t help but say gratefully, “Thank you, then I ……”

Zhao Xinxin was suffocated after being beaten to the face in public again. At the same time, she couldn’t miss this opportunity even more.

She didn’t wait for An Yan to finish his sentence and spoke first, “Then you can recreate the potion, but you must use the same steps and methods as before.”

Fearing that An Yan would deliberately change his methods in the potion production process, she added, “I carefully observed the whole process as you made your potion, so don’t try to fool me.”

The others heard this, and it made them reject and resent Zhao Xinxin even more.

On the contrary, An Yan seemed to be very good-natured and nodded, “I know.”

With that, An Yan turned to Zhang Cheng and said, “Professor Zhang, thank you for just now. I now need to go back to the practice classroom to make a new body potion.”

Zhang Cheng was feeling sorry for An Yan and was about to nod when he heard the professor who had just spoken up for An Yan take the initiative to say, “Since it’s to make a potion, it is the same if you do it here. All the ingredients you need are available. ”

An Yan thought for a moment and nodded his head to thank him, “Thank you then.”

It was all about making a potion in public anyway; it really didn’t matter where it was made.

That was what everyone thought, but only Zhao Xinxin’s eyes started to redden with jealousy because of the professor’s favor for An Yan.

You forget his cousin already? Lol

  2. Nightowl says:

I’m more surprised by An Yan’s execution in tricking ZX. Up to this point I didn’t see much of the cunning thought process and acting skills of AY.

What happened to Cheng Yi’s innocent baby!? 😲

  3. cynicalreader says:

I… am really speechless on Zhao Xinxin’s thought process fr

as the daughter of the owner (??) of the largest pharmaceutical company, I feel like she should’ve taken the initiative to actually recruit An Yan to the company. but alas, she’s blinded by her jealousy and overall bad personality

    i can’t believe she’s still here lol
