TVLMS Chapter 112.2 [End]

Gu Xiyu frowned slightly but did not push him away, instead raising his head to meet his gradually deepening kiss.

In fact, this was already a month after he had finished the mission world. It took several days from the time Wen Xinghan started the final fusion of his souls, then they were picked up from the X Central Station and returned to the headquarters, and then Wen Xinghan’s physical condition had to completely stabilize before he woke up. For Wen Xinghan, this was just a matter of opening his eyes, but for him, he has been waiting for many days.

Commander Lin of the twelfth sub-bureau had recovered and taken over his post again. He had returned from his mission with a great amount of credit so the bureau gave him a temporary leave of absence. He would go and sit in Wen Xinghan’s ward every day whenever he was free, waiting for him to wake up.

Of course, he would not tell Wen Xinghan about this, or this guy would have his tail up in the air.

The clothes Wen Xinghan had just changed into were wrinkled, and even the ones on Gu Xiyu’s body did not escape.

Commander Gu finally pushed the man away when his head started to spin. He stared at Wen Xinghan without saying a word, raising his hand to wipe the wetness on the side of his mouth with his thumb. Wen Xinghan looked into his eyes and started to reflect on whether he had gone too far when Gu Xiyu suddenly sighed and pushed him down on the bed.

Wen Xinghan watched in a daze as Gu Xiyu began to undo the buttons on his clothes, looking down at him as he said, “I’ve thought about it for a long time. In those mission worlds, it was always you who took the initiative to take advantage of me every time. I want to do it myself this time.”

Wen Xing Han: “……?”

Gu Xiyu met his stunned gaze, and the corners of his mouth curled up, smiling seductively, “Don’t worry, I quite enjoy being the receiver.” He just wanted to try moving himself and, by the way, see what kind of expression this guy could have on his face.

Wen Xinghan’s mood today was more stimulated than being on a roller coaster, from the sadness of waking up and remembering everything, to the happiness of being truly reunited with Gu Xiyu, to the excitement of being placed under his supervision, and now the sudden – care?

At that time in the mission worlds, perhaps it was because of his personas or because Gu Xiyu hadn’t completely recovered his lost self, but Gu Xiyu had always been passive, reserved, and calm, and it was impossible for him to ask for or do such exciting things. So this was the first time Wen Xinghan saw him take the initiative.

It was also Gu Xiyu’s way of telling him, confirming to him that the feelings between them run both ways.

The corners of Gu Xiyu’s eyes were seductively red, and his eyes were also flooded with a layer of moisture, and when he looked down at him, it was like a silent invitation, making him want to rub himself into his bones. In between the movements, a silver-blue metal ring was suddenly fastened around Wen Xinghan’s neck—it was quite similar to the pet ring in the small interstellar world back then.

Gu Xiyu smiled and said, “To prevent any unforeseen circumstances, the Bureau requires you to wear this thing that can limit your power while following me, are you willing?”

Wen Xinghan sat up and reached out to hold his waist closer to him and said in a deep voice: “There is nothing I am unwilling about, to have the current result… has far exceeded my expectations.”

Gu Xiyu was silent for a moment and gently tapped the sapphire in the middle of that silver metal ring, which turned into a beautiful silver necklace with a pendant of a flying eagle. Wen Xinghan paused, realizing that it was the ‘exchange item’ he had been quietly looking for ever since he woke up.

Gu Xiyu found it in the light mass that was said to be the ‘Main System’ when he woke up at the Central Station, and he was now handing it to Wen Xinghan in another way. This time, the delivery had a different meaning compared to the previous time in prison.

Wen Xinghan also quickly realized this and excitedly took back the dominant position and held the person down. Gu Xiyu let out a low, muffled groan and did not resist, letting Wen Xinghan hold him tightly in his arms.

Commander Gu, who had always been a man of duty and would never do such a thing as daytime lust, once again broke his principles because of someone. After finishing, he and Wen Xinghan slept off and were finally woken up by the doorbell coming from the office.

The person beside him was still asleep; after all, he had just finished fusing his soul and still needed a lot of rest, so the soft ringing outside did not wake him up.

Gu Xiyu looked at the uniform that had been thrown onto the floor, already crumpled beyond recognition, not to mention the fact that it was stained with strange things in different places. He could only lament that the new uniform was wasted while finding casual clothes in the wardrobe and putting them on. He returned to his office with a tired and weary face and opened the door.

Standing outside the door was one of the Bureau’s staff members, clutching a small, transparent box with a black and gold bracelet inside.

The other party, who only thought he was just resting in the lounge and didn’t think of other scenarios, handed him the object and said: “This is the new intelligent system that has been repaired and should now be able to operate properly. The main office has started to produce more, and this is the original system that accompanied you on your missions. As you had been involved in the planning of this system, and because of the accidental connection to the X central hub due to a momentary oversight on the part of the Bureau, the director decided to give it to you as compensation.”

“Okay, thanks.” After taking the item, Gu Xiyu relocked the office door and carried the box to the couch.

His back and waist were still a little sore, but it didn’t stop him from sitting down.

After wearing the bracelet and re-binding with him, the system’s cute loli voice soon rang out, [[Hello dear sir, system WXH-3771 has been bound and is at your service from now on!]]

The system not only played a role in the execution of missions in the small worlds, but it also had functions in daily work and life, including communication, shopping, contact with other layers of the realm, etc. It could do it all.

Gu Xiyu looked at it, and his thoughts drifted back to a long time ago.

He had indeed been involved in the planning and production of this system, back when he was still in the fortress. When all the data had been submitted, they had also said that he would be the first to try out the finished product when it came out and that he would personally pick a number for the initial test product.

Gu Xiyu spent the night trying to choose a combination of numbers and letters and submitted the final choice after confirming that no other system had used it.

WXH-3771.

Wen Xinghan, and his prisoner number 3771.

  2. OH MY GOD WHAT,,,, IT’S BEEN THERE THE WHOLE TIME?? SDJIFISEUFJUFH. so the system name was named on Wen Xinghan which probably made it easier for Wen Xinghan to control it. Also, it’s very interesting that Gu Xiyu’s circumstances are quite similar to Wen Xinghan but his attitude towards it is the opposite of our ML. No wonder they complement each other so much lol. The necklace kind of reminds me of the necklace in the interstellar world, the one that was kind of a plot hole because it wasn’t revealed what it was for and why Gu Xiyu had it. It might be a remnant of Wen Xinghan’s memory. That world did have a large fragment of our ML. I am still quite confused how the ML managed to take control of the main system and its sub bureaus but I’ll probably digest it later lol.

I just realized that most of the end-game villains were people who have familial relations with our ML. Our MC did say that the worlds reflect the subconscious of our ML so it makes sense if this betrayal is a core part of the ‘villain’ settings of the villain roles of the fragments. I just noticed it which is a nice touch.

Our ML’s obsession with our MC is explained quite well though I do wish that there were more dialogues between them in the fortress to solidify their affections more but it was delivered enough. It is quite interesting though that the Lord God’s system for the fortress wasn’t evil as I thought it was. It’s a pleasant surprise to know that the Lord God just wanted to give them a space (the demons/prisoners) where they can’t harm other people while also giving work to those people like our MC. It’s quite thoughtful.

To be honest, I didn’t have much expectations for this webnovel. I thought that it would be the same as every other QT novel where our ML is your typical overbearing ML. But this ML is quite the dynamic character and quite consistent throughout the worlds, especially in his detached style of dealing with things. I’m also pleased with our MC, who was strong and quite a resilient character. What really interested me about him was that he’s quite the optimistic guy about himself and others, his outlook is quite warm towards life in contrast to his cold personality (though I felt that this aspect was only highlighted in the end). The side characters were quite lovely too, and they stayed true to their ‘good’ character settings which is really refreshing considering many webnovels where the MC transmigrates has the original protagonist as the end-game villain. They weren’t fleshed out as much but they were individual enough that I never felt as if the author just copy pasted the side characters in every new world.

Thank you for the translation. I finished this in 2 days and it was quite the journey. The translations were easy to understand and they were seamless. I also appreciate the little notes about who is speaking because it does get confusing lol. Thank you for your hard work and persistence! I enjoyed this story thanks to your work.

  3. It’s Ended…. But it was so well written till the end!!! The author did Amazing job with the Character Growth, feelings and All!!!
    It’s Soooo Gooood!!!

I just realised our ML himself is one of rare kind of ML. A Yandere Gong ML who can cry emotionally. He only cried twice but it was much more than other ML who I rarely ‘See’ cry!

    Lovable Story till the end!

  4. Thank you so much for translating this and I’m glad that I found it after you’ve completed the translation! I did not expect to like this so much and that’s despite me being a huge fan of QT novels! The MC and ML was so different and complicated rather than the normally stereotype ones that it was a breath of fresh air!

  6. This is the story I took time to consume, in a good way. I usually read a novel only for a day or two even if it has 300 chapters. But this time, I indulged myself from the two-person story. It was so interesting and beautiful. I wish the translator well,so is the author. Thank you so much for this.

  11. //chokes I’m not prepared for the end (๑o̴̶̷̥᷅﹏o̴̶̷̥᷅๑) wanted more extras and scenes and explanation/light. I’ll dearly miss them. mc’s initiative is a bonus (,,> ᎑ <,,) ♡ This QT is unexpectedly a good find OwO — thr growth, the love, the plot and the pacing and the detailss, and the wholeness of the story from start to end (no bombed or rushed ending or near the end) — and I'm grateful to tr-sama for that 💞

  12. I grinned the whole way through this chapter, I really love the beautiful way everything came together at the end. This premise was executed so well, Gu Xiyu completely pulled off the whole “my system is probably the target but also might not be” thing, which really sold his setting as a meticulous and intelligent person—there were a lot of clues, especially given he lived with some of the targets for decades, but anything less than 100% certainty wasn’t worth acting on. As also exemplified with his “let the dao itself decide whether or not I have Ineradicable Feelings for you” move, it’s such a fascinating combination of overly active and completely passive in determining emotions and making declarations. Honestly that whole scene was absolutely excellent, it wonderfully highlighted their specific brand of relationship, the whole concept of “an unexpected accident” and “intextricably intertwined” (what with the imagery of the sacrifice of an eye in pursuit and the commingling of destinies because of it; the moment with the paired jade where Gu Xiyu says “they were originally a pair and are incomplete without each other, so when one is broken the other will be damaged along with it” was an excellent metaphor as well given Wen Xinghan’s being shattered while Gu Xiyu lost part of himself, both saved and destroyed by the connection between them). And that wedding imagery with the collar exchange, saying “I’m willing” to an ostensible shackle and getting jewelry full of deep meaning instead! A promise to stay together forever!! Why are they so cute and in love I can’t handle ittt, Gu Xiyu finally being an overtly active participant in their relationship now that duty isn’t standing between them…

I’m sincerely impressed with how this novel pulled off the premise, it seems like the kind of thing that could easily be embarrassing but Gu Xiyu handled himself so well through all of it that it never got out of control; on the other end of things, the targets were consistently both villainous and redeemable, so that Gu Xiyu’s opposition and Wen Xinghan’s status as a prisoner never felt out of place while still making him a likeable and fairly sympathetic romantic interest. Without justifying antisocial activity and revenge spirals! It’s a hard line to walk, and I feel like this story really did it. It’s so rare to see a novel genuinely focus on rehabilitation, and not even in an entirely romance-focused way—when Bu Tianhan thought Gu Xiyu might’ve genuinely abandoned him, he still didn’t kill anyone because he’d internalized the value/habit; when he left that world, he specifically thanked the protagonist who showed him that there were, in fact, things in the world itself (i.e. not outsider Gu Xiyu) that were good, if he let them be. And the protagonists of each world were always great protagonists worth their stations! 10/10 for maintaining the actual “we’re helping the protagonists by removing the villain’s opposition” premise!! So very rare. I can’t believe I got to read a whole novel of “maybe stopping crime comes from understanding and diverting the attention of potential perpetrators to more constructive goals + providing missing support,” my crops are watered, my soul is healed

Gu Xiyu naming an official project after His prisoner is so adorable my HEART. I like that they’re both wearing signs of each other’s affection/meaningful aspects of their relationship development that are also tied to their work/everyday lives enough to be real, functional accessories/reminders of each other? Clearly I don’t know how to say this well but there’s something about the different layers of meaning, use, duty, emotional history going on that I find particularly appealing. Maybe also that it’s a choice they were both happy to make—mentally stable Wen Xinghan wasn’t going to cause problems even if he was fully a prisoner again so long as Gu Xiyu was well but instead got to live freely as his coworker and acknowledged boyfriend, actively choosing to have the possibility of being controlled by someone else at any time when initially in those worlds he strongly rejected the idea; wholly himself Gu Xiyan has no requirement to work with a system anymore, let alone the same system, but actively chooses to bind himself to it for everyday function when he initially found it annoying and constraining. Which doesn’t even get into his flirting/proposal to the main system in the last world haha. There are just a lot of excellent parallels going on and I’m impressed to find that in just two chapters, albeit very long ones, I am completely sold on their relationship, backstory, and future lives together. It was very cool to see both the origin of Gu Xiyu’s “seemingly cold but actually optimistic and universally caring” personality and how he’s grown and integrated into a more complete individual along the way, as well as Wen Xinghan’s starting point, reintegration, and ultimate catharsis and healing. They have nuance! Growth! They’re interesting individuals all around and I am so blindingly happy for them

Alright this is probably unnecessarily long already but what I mean to say is really, thank you, truly, so very much for translating this story. I’m really excited to reread it with full context later! I appreciate you and all the work you’ve done to give us access to an amazing novel, start to finish <3
