The Villain Is A Scheming Boss 23.2

Gu Xiyu was right about why Fu Nian was trying to deal with Ji Chen.

Fu Nian has had a great relationship with his grandfather, Fu Xuan, since childhood. Fu Xuan happened to have an accident on his way to attend Fu Nian’s birthday party, so Fu Nian has always blamed himself. He felt that if he hadn’t held a birthday party that day, his grandfather would have been fine. While he was still immersed in self blame, an investigation report from Fu Xuan’s friend, Lei Zhenting of LS Group, revealed that his grandfather’s death was not an accident.

All the evidence and signs pointed to Ji Chen, who had been “fighting” with Fu Xuan in the business world for a long time. Fu Nian was now working so hard to learn how to do business and deal with business partners just to avenge his grandfather and push Ji Chen into a dark abyss.

Gu Xiyu remembered the system’s ambiguous answer that day, so he asked Fu Nian, “Are you sure there is no misunderstanding?”

“I even have personal and physical evidence, what else can I misunderstand?” Apparently, Fu Nian found the person Ji Chen commissioned to tamper with the breakd of Fu Xuan’s car and also found some records about him and the car accident.

“Ji Chen is cruel. He can even scheme against his own elder brother, what else can’t he do?” Fu Nian said. He walked to Gu Xiyu and held on to his shoulders, saying with bitterness, “Why? Why would you want to marry Ji Chen?!”

“Forced.”

Fu Nian was startled by Gu Xiyu’s answer.

While he was still in shock, Gu Xiyu grabbed his arm and skillfully restricted him, so Fu Nian could only watch him snatch the hard drive and kick him away mercilessly.

“Give me a few days. I will find a way to help you confirm the truth of your grandfather’s death.” Gu Xiyu finally chose to believe the system’s statement.

After taking the hard drive, he dragged his somewhat cumbersome body and ran downstairs. On his way upstairs before, he had met several foreigners dressed in uniform styles. Now Fu Nian’s yelling came from behind him, instructing them to stop him in a fluent foreign language.

Gu Xiyu avoided their attack and directly jumped off the third floor. To their shock, he smoothly landed on the ground and ran away like the wind, leaving only the afterimage of the army green jacket.

Unfortunately, he still couldn’t go too far.

As soon as he left the residential building, an automatic notification rang out in his mind.

[[The target’s risk value is +5. The current risk value is 65. ]]

With the sound of this reminder, the electric current that he had just endured last night rushed from the tail vertebra to the top of his head again with double the shock.

A second before losing consciousness, Gu Xiyu couldn’t help but murmur in a low voice: “Ji Chen! You jnsjkdksj… if you die, you really… deserved it!”

————

When Gu Xiyu woke up, he was already in the hospital.

As soon as he opened his eyes and saw the snow-white ceiling, a cold voice came from the side: “You’re finally awake?”

The numbness in Gu Xiyu’s body had faded a lot, but the target’s risk value displayed on the panel had risen again while he was unconscious and it was now 75.

Regarding the reason why the risk value had risen again, he quickly got the answer from Ji Chen who was beside the bed.

“Your way of relaxation is by having a romantic rendezvous with your former crush?” Ji Chen asked him with furious eyes.

Gu Xiyu immediately touched the hard drive in his pocket to confirm if it was still there. As expected, it had already been taken away.

He glanced at Ji Chen with bitter eyes. He did not speak, but asked the system angrily: “What’s the matter with Ji Chen?”

The system answered a few seconds later: [Ji Chen was very angry when he saw the note you left when he returned home. Just when he was stepping out to find you, he received a call from Fu Nian.]

Ji Chen was more than angry.

When Fu Nian called him, Fu Nian’s tone was very angry and provocative: “Xiyu is with me. He looked very uncomfortable, why in hell would you still let him go out?”

“I took him to the People’s Hospital in G City. You can pick him up.”

Ji Chen asked, “What did he do with you?”

The other side was quiet for a while and then answered with a chuckle: “He gave me something very important, do you want to guess what it is?”

Ji Chen did not cooperate with his provocations and remained silent. Before hanging up, Fu Nian added: “It’s a pity! If I had accepted his feelings, there would have been nothing between you guys.”

It was these words that lit a small flame in Ji Chen’s heart, causing him to lose control of his emotions and the risk value rose by ten points.

“I am also very angry.” Gu Xiyu’s response to the system was quickly passed over.

[What are you angry about?]

Gu Xiyu looked at the system as if it was too stupid to see how unreasonable Ji Chen was. Gu Xiyu didn’t know where to start to complain about this, and only replied indifferently: “I am angry because he is a fool.”

[…]

Gu Xiyu and Ji Chen quickly fell back into the cold war mode. Ji Chen also completely restricted his movements and prevented him from stepping a foot out of the house, but he did not seize his mobile phone or laptop.

Gu Xiyu contacted Haozi and asked him to find a way to help him investigate Fu Xuan’s car accident.

As he waited, he could only sit on the balcony holding Xixi in a daze since he couldn’t go out.

Now that he had to worry about the Ji Group and the additional problem of the hard disk in Fu Nian’s hands, Ji Chen’s work life became even busier. Since the relationship between the two of them was still in a stalemate, Ji Chen simply stayed overnight at the company and didn’t return home.

So Gu Xiyu was resigned to chatting with his indifferent intelligent system.

He stayed on the balcony for a while and suddenly called out: “System!”

[? ]Although the system was as cold as ever, it always answered.

Gu Xiyu sometimes liked this way of getting along with it. So after receiving the response, he said: “Nothing, just wanted to confirm your presence.”

[…]

After a few minutes, the system asked, [Are you bored?]

“I’m kind of, but it’s okay.”

[I have a program that can play for you some movies.]

Gu Xiyu was actually not very interested in such recreational activities, but since the cold system personally offered, how can he respond negatively: “Okay, let’s see something exciting!”

Otherwise, he might fall asleep while watching.

Perhaps the system used his exact keywords to search and play, as the moment the video jumped out, it was indeed a super exciting part…

Gu Xiyu watched the scene of two men hugging and rolling together before making strange noises, and his mind went blank for a long time. Although the film was turned off in a hurry, the shocking scene was already embedded in his mind and it was difficult to disperse in a short time.

The first thought that came to him was that two men could actually do that.

[Th…that…. I’m so so sorry! It was an accident!]

On the contrary, the system that had accidentally played the video was feeling even more flustered than him: [Don’t watch it. You…….go and do other things by yourself.]

“…” Gu Xiyu didn’t expect that after leaving the bureau, the systems they created would have such realistic attitudes and reactions.

He had no choice but to open the task panel. The special task that required him to “pamper” the target was still hanging there, and the risk value had been fluctuating up and down these days.

In fact, he refused earlier just to try out the so-called punishment and get a general idea. However, refusing any further was not worth the pain, so he decided to find a chance to complete it.

Gu Xiyu turned on the phone and saw the date on it, remembering that it was Ji Chen’s birthday in a few days. Giving him a gift should make him happy, but after browsing for a long time, he felt that Ji Chen didn’t lack anything in material needs.

Commander Gu, who has never had any love experience, fell into tangle that almost made him bald.

On the morning of Ji Chen’s birthday, Gu Xiyu received an email from Haozi. Haozi had used another email account to first send him a strange advertisement to show his identity and then send him the information he found.

After finishing, he didn’t forget to use the phone of the owner of the hardware store to send him a text message: [Horrible! Everyone in these big families is a beast in human skin. ]

Gu Xiyu clicked on the document Haozi had sent and read the big discrepancy between the truth about Fu Xuan’s death and Fu Nian’s understanding.]

[Come out and meet me now.]

He sent a message to Fu Nian. After a few minutes, the other party quickly sent him the address of the meeting place.

Since Ji Chen had detained him at home and he planned to surprise the other party, who was unlikely to come home tonight, he simply took the USB flash drive with the information and jumped over from the balcony of the twenty-something-floor to the bottom of the building without obstacles. He stopped a car and went to see Fu Nian.

The men Ji Chen had hired to look after him probably never thought that he could slip away from such a high balcony.

“This is something I asked a friend who is very good at searching information to help me find out. It is very different from the information you got, so I wanted you to see it yourself.”

In the quiet corner of the coffee shop, Fu Nian took the USB flash drive that Gu Xiyu had handed him. He hesitated for a while, then finally plugged it in the connection port of the laptop he brought.

According to the results of Haozi’s investigation, Fu Xuan’s death was indeed not an accident, but it was not because of Ji Chen’s manipulation, but his so-called good friend Lei Zhenting.

“Impossible!” Lei Zhenting had always taken care of Fu Nian since Fu Xuan’s death. He couldn’t have had today’s achievements and convenience without the help of this elder.

Everyone knew the friendly relationship between Lei Zhenting and Fu Xuan. If he really wanted his grandfather’s life from the start, why would he delay until they were old?

Gu Xiyu said: “You know that Lei Zhenting had a younger sister, right?”

Fu Nian closed his fist slightly. He tried to stabilize his voice and replied: “I know, I heard him mention it, but his sister fell into the water by accident more than ten years ago.”

Gu Xiyu asked him to open another document and said, “Actually, it was not an accident that she fell into the water.”

“Ten years ago, when she was about to go on a date with her fiancé, whom she was going to marry within a month, she accidentally ran into a drunk man. The man was a little bit drunk at the time and wanted to do something bad to her. While struggling with him and trying to stop his inappropriate actioyn, she accidentally fell into the bottomless lake. The man was frightened, and instead of saving, he ran away and left Lei Zhenting’s beloved sister for dead.”

Seeing Fu Nian’s expression gradually being stunned, Gu Xiyu whispered: “The man who attacked her back then was your grandfather, Fu Xuan.”

“Lei Zhenting had great trust in your grandfather before that, but he didn’t believe that his sister’s fall into the water was an accident and AFTER further investigation, discovered the truth. On the other side of the lake that night, someone was holding a camera and capturing some night scenes. He accidentally recorded the entire process and that was the evidence Lei Zhenting recieved after visiting that person.”

“He knew that your Fu family had a strong background in that if he took evidence and made a report, your grandfather would escape very easily. So, he feigned ignorance and continued to act as your grandfather’s friend even after obtaining the evidence. On the other hand, your grandfather thought Lei Zhenting was a good business partner and friend. He didn’t know about Lei Zhenting’s family, so he never thought that the person he had caused to die was his sister and was never wary of him.”

The expression on Fu Nian’s face gradually collapsed, as if refusing to believe everything.

Gu Xiyu was not in a hurry to convince him, he only reminded: “When investigating the truth about your grandfather’s death, weren’t Lei Zhenting and his people involved from the start?”

It was inevitable. In order to find out the truth, take revenge, and keep the family business, Fu Nian had no choice but to start studying business. During this period, he relied on Lei Zhenting’s help, he truly believed that Lei Zhenting and Fu Xuan had a very good relationship. Not only did he never suspect him, most of the investigations about Fu Xuan’s death were left to Lei Zhenting.

Gu Xiyu got the answer from Fu Nian’s lost soul attitude: “You can try investigating in private; just find someone who has nothing to do with the Lei family to do it and see if there will be a different result.”

Fu Nian didn’t speak but stared at the files on the laptop that also contained Lei Zhenting’s own oral confession about how his grandfather had died.

Gu Xiyu waited patiently for a while. When Fu Nian raised his hand to support his forehead and refused to face reality, he asked him: “Can you not use the hard drive at least until you confirm the truth?”

“…It’s too late.” When Fu Nian put down his hand, his eyes were a little red. Anger and despair were intertwined in them, “I gave it to Lan Yue.”

Facing Gu Xiyu’s dumbfounded eyes, Fu Nian lowered his head and said, “Lan Yue had things that could destroy the reputation of my grandfather and the Fu family. I’m… sorry.”

———

After separating from Fu Nian, Gu Xiyu wandered aimlessly for a long time and finally, when the time was right, waited under the building of Fengming headquarters.

It was around nine p.m in the evening, and the company was not in the busiest part of the city, so there were no people passing by and it was very quiet.

He leaned against the street lamp and stared at a certain place to let his thoughts go empty before he thought to himself: “The human mind is so complicated.” Dealing with this kind of chaos is more tiring than going to the battlefield and fighting several beasts.

[Weren’t you human before? ] the system asked him.

Gu Xiyu looked down at his reflection under the street lamp and replied, “I still am.”

He didn’t elaborate much after answering the system. He looked up to the top floor of the building and saw that the light in the president’s office was still on, so he took out the phone in his pocket.

When Ji Chen received Gu Xiyu’s call, he was working overtime alone at the company. He stared at the name on the phone for a few seconds, but couldn’t hold from connecting.

As soon as he accepted the call, there was a busy tone showing that the other party had hang up.

“…”

Ji Chen looked at his phone in confusion, wondering whether gu Xiyu was pranking him. Then a message suddenly popped up at the top of the screen.

Little spy: [Look up! ]

Ji Chen subconsciously followed the words said by Xiyu and the bright fireworks suddenly exploded in his sight, adding a light color to the glass windows of his office and staining them heavily.

The phone in his hand vibrated again.

Little spy: [Happy birthday. ]

This was the first time that someone other than the old butler celebrated his birthday.

The fireworks were set off was at the nearby hill area, far away from the downtown area. Ji Chen was taken aback for a moment, then he suddenly got up and walked to the french windows.

Under the building, a boy wearing a long light gray windbreaker jacket with slightly curly hair stood under a street lamp not far away, looking up in his direction. They were obviously separated by such a long distance, but Ji Chen inexplicably felt that their eyes had met.

A strange feeling soaked into his heart for a moment.

It was as if his soul finally met the person he was looking for after a long wait across…. countless times and space?

In fact, he knew that the indifferent person downstairs was just doing this to please him and complete his task, but…

[[The target’s risk value is -5. The current risk value is 70. ]]

Ji Chen’s hand holding the phone tightened subconsciously.

But he still couldn’t help being tempted.

After the visual feast brought by the fireworks ended, the surroundings calmed down again.

The phone received another text message.

Little spy: [Also, there are many people planning to deal with you. So you have to be careful. ]

One minute later, another one was sent from the other side.

Little spy: [ It’s very complicated, I don’t know how to tell you. But those people might have a lot of things that will put you and your company in a difficult situation, no matter what it is and who they are, you should not trust anyone at all. ]]

Ji Chen looked back at his computer and chuckled silently.

He has never been accustomed to putting 100% trust in people, even Liyang Group, which had a good relationship with his company before.

Till today, he has made himself successful step by step. How could he be destroyed by those people who speak more than take action?

Ji Chen was not worried, but he still replied Gu Xiyu.

[What about you? ]

[Are you one of them too? ]

Gu Xiyu downstairs stared at the two messages Ji Chen had sent. He paused for a long time with his finger on the button before typing and answer.

[As long as you don’t do anything beyond my bottom line, I will never be on that list. ]

Ji Chen’s reply came over shortly after that.

Big Devil: [Everything I do is because of an initial goal. ]

Big Devil: [If you can give me a new goal, then my bottom line will be you. ]
