The Heartthrob Protagonist Just Wants To Monopolize Me Chapter 40.1

Love Mountain Spring was located at the border of the primeval forest.

Song Yuelin’s commercial car was parked in an area where the terrain was flat and a car could be driven through even though the vegetation was also dense.

In contrast, the terrain near Love Mountain Spring was steep, and a few places had almost 90° slopes.

The difference in terrain also led to a slight difference in the vegetation that grew there.

Most of the vegetation grew parallel to the ground as it emerged from the earth, and when it reached a certain length, it bent upwards to draw in the sun and rain.

From a distance, the slopes of Love Mountain Spring looked like a short comb, and the thriving bushes were dense and tough as the teeth of the comb.

Ji Mingxia saw the landmark stone marker of Love Mountain Spring amidst the barren grass. He had just read it out when an unusual rattling sound came from above.

The wind was blowing somewhere in the trees, and the leaves were rustling, as if something was shaking the trunks of the trees.

In addition, there were a few faint human voices coming out.

Although it was daytime at the moment, the forest was very quiet, and these sudden sounds seemed extremely spooky.

Ji Mingxia had recently encountered ghosts and monsters, and when he saw the shaking trees, his first thought was, ‘It’s not another ghost, is it?’

As he thought this, he unconsciously moved closer to Yu Ning.

As Ji Mingxia’s position shifted, the shaking leaves also changed their position.

The movements were originally about two to three metres away from Ji Mingxia and Yu Ning, but gradually, they soon moved to a position less than a metre in front of them.

Although the foliage was dense, there were some gaps after all, and with the distance reduced, Ji Mingxia soon discovered that there seemed to be someone hiding in the trees.

The constantly shaking leaves affected his vision, so Ji Mingxia could only roughly judge that someone was crawling around inside. He could not tell if it was a man or a woman, tall or short, fat or thin.

As Ji Mingxia was wondering, he suddenly heard the snap of a tree branch.

The next second, an opening suddenly appeared in the dense foliage, and as the branches broke, a person covered in leaves fell from the tree above and was about to fall on Yu Ning below!

“Yu Ning, be careful!” Ji Mingxia was startled and warned anxiously.

He thought that Yu Ning would quickly dodge out of the way with his warning, but to his surprise, Yu Ning looked in his direction at the critical moment, then suddenly stretched out his hand and pushed him.

Before Ji Mingxia could react as to why Yu Ning was pushing him, another huge figure once again came down from the tree and fell onto him.

Everything happened so fast that Ji Mingxia couldn’t even react to what was going on, and by the time he came back to his senses, he had already been knocked to the ground.

The man should have been able to crush Ji Mingxia, but Yu Ning gave him a temporary push, allowing him to escape.

Although his shoulder was still hit, causing him to lose balance and fall to the ground, he was at least not seriously injured.

However, there was an old wound on the side of Ji Mingxia’s waist. When he fell from the impact, his body rubbed heavily against the ground, and the scab of the wound was immediately torn open, causing Ji Mingxia’s body to jerk in pain.

The wound on his waist was caused a while back when he accidentally hit the desk in the classroom while helping Yu Ning.

Before meeting ghosts, he didn’t need to do anything other than study every day, so he had developed a delicate skin, and this was the only wound on his body.

It hurt a lot when he was first injured, but luckily, he recovered well and it didn’t hurt much the next day.

After so many days of recuperation, it had now scabbed over, and Ji Mingxia would completely ignore its existence as long as he didn’t touch it.

However, although the wound has scabbed over and did not hurt at all, the inside was not fully healed yet. At this moment, with the tear and multiple impacts on his body, Ji Mingxia’s eyes went black for a few seconds before he came back to his senses.

“I’m sorry I didn’t mean to do that, are you alright?” After realising that he had hit someone, the culprit scrambled to his feet and shook Ji Mingxia.

Ji Mingxia was shaken and he felt like he was falling apart: “Ouch! It hurts, don’t touch me.”

Ji Mingxia said, raising his head to look at this insensitive culprit.

What came to his eyes was a face with some baby-fat. The features were squeezed together because of some false fat, but he could still tell that it was a relatively handsome boy.

He seemed to be a little younger than Ji Mingxia and Yu Ning although tall, and had the youthful appearance of someone who had just started high school.

“I’m sorry, I really didn’t mean it.” The chubby boy looked at Ji Mingxia with a bitter face and said.

On the other side, Yu Ning had missed the best time to dodge after pushing Ji Mingxia away.

However, he had instinctively turned his body to the side at the last minute, so only his foot ended up being slightly crushed.

The person who landed in front of Yu Ning was a thin woman wearing a loose blue jacket and without Yu Ning’s cushion, she would have fallen straight to the ground.

Fortunately, the forest was soft and full of weeds, and the woman in blue was light and wearing thick clothes. Although the landing posture was not elegant, she was actually not injured.

When she realised that the only thing she had crushed was Yu Ning’s foot, the woman in blue couldn’t help but raise her head and look at Yu Ning in a slightly reproachful manner.

He saw someone falling but not only did he not offer help, but he also dodged away at the first opportunity.

Although she ended up crushing the surface of his foot, it was just one foot, which was not not effective and was equivalent to no one catching her as she fell to the ground.

A dull pain came from where she had bumped her body, and the woman in blue frowned at Yu Ning. When she saw what he looked like, she was stunned.

Yu Ning stood there with a cold expression, not even glancing at her, but the woman in blue was drawn to Yu Ning’s appearance almost instantly.

These eyes with different pupils, matched with his features, looking ghostly. If he were anywhere else, she would either think that this man was born with otherworldly features or that he was too different, but at this moment, in the daylight-bathed forest, the fine sunlight shone on his face, and his delicate and cool appearance was almost like an elf walking out of the forest.

The woman in blue stared at Yu Ning in a daze, but unfortunately, Yu Ning had turned his head and was not looking at her anymore.

Not only did he avert his eyes, Yu Ning had even withdrawn his foot and turned around, intending to walk to the side.

The woman in blue opened her mouth to ask for help, “I’m hurt, can you help me up?”

She was thin and slender, the exact figure of a popular young girl. She had deep features, mixed with a bit of exoticism, and a delicate sweet voice when she opened her mouth. An average man would want to pick her up immediately and hold her in his hands, don’t even mention refusing.

Yu Ning did not seem to hear her, and continued to walk to the side.

The woman in blue thought that Yu Ning hadn’t heard her and she raised her voice, “Hey, I’m injured and can’t get up, can you help me?”

However, Yu Ning still didn’t look back and quickly walked to Ji Mingxia.

Seeing Ji Mingxia lying on the ground, Yu Ning hurriedly bent down and supported Ji Mingxia’s shoulders so that he could sit up, and then leaned Ji Mingxia’s back onto him so that although Ji Mingxia was sitting, he did not need to exert much effort.

“Where are you injured?” Yu Ning whispered as he supported Ji Mingxia.

“I’m not hurt ……,” Ji Mingxia said reflexively.

Yu Ning slowly lifted his head and looked at the chubby boy at the side.

The chubby boy was originally looking at Ji Mingxia apologetically, and when Yu Ning stared at him, his whole body stiffened: “I ……I accidentally bumped into him ……”

Yu Ning usually had a cold, indifferent, and do-not-approach appearance. Even when Ji Mingxia realized that he was the protagonist, he did not quite dare to approach Yu Ning, let alone ordinary people, they’d just want to stay away.

At this moment, although Yu Ning’s face was also expressionless, the look in his eyes was extraordinarily cold.

The forest was much hotter in the daylight than at night, and the chubby boy had developed a thin layer of sweat after all this tossing and turning.

He felt the temperature around him drop by several degrees and he stiffened in place, not daring to move, and not daring to look at Yu Ning.

Although Ji Mingxia couldn’t see Yu Ning’s face, he could also guess how scary Yu Ning looked now by looking at the chubby boy’s reaction.

Ji Mingxia was still leaning on Yu Ning, and in order to lessen Yu Ning’s worries, he quickly said: “Fortunately, you pushed me away in time, otherwise I would have been crushed. I was only knocked down and fell. But this old man’s skin is thick and fleshy, and it’s durable.”

Yu Ning looked at Ji Mingxia. His eyes unconsciously fell on his white neck, then he said to Ji Mingxia: “Try lifting your left arm.”

Ji Mingxia obediently did as he was told, and after raising his arm, he said to Yu Ning, “See, it’s not injured, it’s still fine.”

“Are there any bruises on your body?” Yu Ning asked.

“No.” Ji Mingxia said quickly.

Yu Ning gave Ji Mingxia a look, then reached out and patted the dust on his waist.

Ji Mingxia’s body twitches, and when he realised that Yu Ning was looking at him, he pulled at the corners of his mouth, “It tickles.”

Yu Ning gently patted along the dusty part of his clothes, and when he reached his waist bone, Ji Mingxia couldn’t take it anymore.

Although Yu Ning’s motion of patting the dust was very light, the clothes were gently rubbing against the wound, making it painful for Ji Mingxia and he couldn’t help but shrink to avoid Yu Ning’s movements.

When Yu Ning was patting his waist, Ji Mingxia was already gritting his teeth to endure it, the further down this went, the more sensitive and painful it became, and Ji Mingxia couldn’t hide it anymore.

He was so obvious, and Yu Ning stopped his hand: “Pull the clothes away for me to see.”

“No way ……,” Ji Mingxia refused in a small voice. Seeing Yu Ning staring at him, Ji Mingxia hurriedly said, “I admit, I admit, there are bruises …… but they are not very serious. It’s summer, and the wound will recover quickly. I’ll put some medicine at night and sleep.”

Yu Ning instantly understood what Ji Mingxia meant.

With two outsiders present, Ji Mingxia did not want to expose the wound, let alone examine it on the spot.

After meeting Song Yuelin, Ji Mingxia was very wary of strangers that appeared in the forest.

Yu Ning didn’t say any more and avoided the wound on the side of Ji Mingxia’s waist, carefully lifting him up.

There was a pain from his waist to his thigh, so he couldn’t really use much strength for a while, and he leaned slightly on Yu Ning’s body.
