The Only Normal Human In The Universe Extra 3

Gu Qing vs Cheng Yang

The first time Gu Qing met Cheng Yang was when he was very young. At that time, Cheng Yang was even smaller, a tiny one, and looked as if he couldn’t even walk steadily.

Gu Qing had his own worries, and even his words were careless when they first met.

It was only after the separation that that small image slowly took root in his heart, becoming clearer and clearer and more difficult to uproot.

At that time, Gu Qing’s parents were in the midst of a divorce and would fiercely quarrel every time they met.

Gu Qing’s mother would always take little Gu Qing with her when she went on business trips to other planets so that her husband would not have the chance to steal her son.

And when she was talking business, she would have the maids take Gu Qing around to play. But how could there be anything fun to do since it was a place to talk business?

At that time, Gu Qing was sitting bored on the steps; the maid was standing not far away without saying a word. She was not so much looking after him as keeping an eye on him in case someone tried to take him away.

It was at this point that Cheng Yang appeared.

He came into the backlight, holding a mecha model about his height in his hands, and awkwardly came to a stop in front of Gu Qing.

“Little brother, do you want to play this mecha model with me?” Cheng Yang’s milky voice was full of happiness and enthusiasm, and his voice was so soft and sticky that it seemed to tickle people’s hearts.

Gu Qing looked back at him, but he couldn’t see him at all because his back was turned to the light.

He frowned a little, a little unsure of how to react.

Cheng Yang padded his toes and leaned forward slightly, his two chubby little hands hugging the mecha model tightly. “I tell you, mecha models are fun, really!”

Probably because the cheerfulness in Cheng Yang’s tone was too real, Gu Qing couldn’t help but nod his head, and then he was pulled by the tiny Cheng Yang to play with the mecha model.

The two didn’t spend much time together, his mother finished her business and he followed her home.

Not knowing his mother’s schedule, Gu Qing didn’t even get to say goodbye to Cheng Yang because he didn’t know his mother’s schedule.

Perhaps it was because of this small regret that Gu Qing’s memory of Cheng Yang slowly deepened after he returned home.

He even outlined how brightly this little boy had smiled when he first appeared in front of him. It was a smile that made the sunlight behind him look a little dull.

The quarrels between his parents continued. His mother was worried that his father would steal him away and was also worried that he would choose to live with him. Every time the subject came up, she would tell him through tears how incompetent his father was and how much she loved him, telling him that he must not be compelled by the other side.

Every time he heard these words, Gu Qing would meekly nod his head and assure his mother that he would definitely not do such a thing.

But he was actually a little sad. He didn’t like his father and mother staying together because of him, but he still did not like the way he was living now.

It was in this kind of life that Gu Qing’s memories of Cheng Yang deepened. Whenever he thought of that boy with a big smile on his face, Gu Qing would feel a warmth in his heart and get in a better mood.

But although his memories deepened, Gu Qing had never thought of going to see him. He felt that he was in no position to do so. He did not even say goodbye to the other party when he left, so Yang Yang must be very angry, right?

And in the end, it was really just a bland and uneventful encounter accompanied by an even more bland and uneventful parting.

It was like two people naturally passing each other in the street.  What reason do you have to call out to each other?

Although Gu Qing was young, his mind was precocious. He was well aware that all his thoughts about Cheng Yang were mostly due to his parents’ affairs.

To him, he was merely trying to find solace, and Cheng Yang happened to appear.

Under such circumstances, what reason would he have to bother the other party?

But even if it was solace, that little doll still slowly took root in his heart. Although Gu Qing told himself it was pointless, he sometimes couldn’t help but check the other party’s information on the virtual net.

“The second young master of the Central Star Cheng family.” It was not difficult to find information about Cheng Yang, even if he acted in a low-profile…

With all the information he pieced together, it was as if Gu Qing was watching that little doll grow up a little, slowly becoming an optimistic and cheerful teenager.

Then one night, Gu Qing had a strange dream. When he woke up, he panicked. Gu Qing was filled with confusion, looking

at the mess he was in. How could he… have such a dream?

Probably sensing the seriousness of the problem, Gu Qing did not dare to search for information about Cheng Yang for awhile. He even tried not to think about him.

But when it came time to advance to college, Gu Qing did not hesitate to choose the mecha major.

And at that moment, his mind unconsciously went back to the scene when they first met.

That tiny milk doll ran up to him with a smile on his face and said to him in a sweet voice, “Little brother, do you want to play this mecha model with me?”

Chen Yang loved playing with mecha models, so he should choose the mecha major, right?

This thought flashed by, and Gu Qing had already chosen the mecha major by the time he came back to his senses.

Gu Qing looked at the choice he had unconsciously made, and he didn’t know what to do other than to sigh.

He thought he would soon forget Cheng Yang if he deliberately didn’t pay attention to him, but things didn’t turn out the way he expected.

The more he deliberately tried to pay attention, the more he wanted to pay attention, and the more he deliberately tried to forget, the more clearly he remembered.

After a period of struggle, Gu Qing finally gave up; he had fallen in too deep to extricate himself.

He and Cheng Yang had only met that one time. He had even pieced together the other party’s upbringing through various sources, so how could he have been moved?

Gu Qing felt that such feelings were absurd. But they came with such force that he had no ability to resist it at all, and could only admit defeat.

He refocused on Cheng Yang’s information, refusing to let go of even the slightest bit, but never mustered up the courage to approach him.

Although the meeting between them was etched in his bones and never to be forgotten, Cheng Yang must have already forgotten about it long ago.

It was just a dispensable encounter, a dispensable memory, and a dispensable him, and it was only normal for the other party to forget.

But even though he told himself this, Gu Qing couldn’t help but keep an eye on Cheng Yang’s movements.

This concern continued until Cheng Yang was successfully admitted to college.

He’d chosen the Pharmacy major instead of Mecha at Central Star First Academy.

Something in Gu Qing’s heart seemed to have collapsed at that moment, making it difficult to support his heavy emotions.

In fact, Gu Qing had always loved potion making since he was a child, but he ultimately chose the mecha major because of Cheng Yang.

But Cheng Yang, who had loved mecha models as a child, had chosen the Pharmacy major.

The news wasn’t that cruel, but to Gu Qing, who had always secretly harbored certain thoughts, it was like a disguised declaration of a cruel truth.

Perhaps he and Cheng Yang were two parallel lines that would never intersect.

This knowledge did not come about because of this incident. He always had such a thought in his heart, otherwise he would have had the courage to approach Cheng Yang.

But this news was like a wake-up call, a heavy knock on his heart that forced him to face this unusually cruel issue.

Gu Qing always asked himself. What qualifications does a person who doesn’t even know how his feelings came about, let alone how to face them, have to have love?

After several days of painful struggle, he chose to give up for the second time.

He should have given up a long time ago. He knew better than anyone that the relationship started simply because he wanted to find solace, to calm the sadness and pain in his heart.

How could there be a perfect ending when there was such an unpleasant beginning?

Although the sapling in his heart had grown into a huge tree, with its roots permeating every corner of his heart and unable to be pulled out, Gu Qing could force himself to pretend that he was free of it.

He stopped paying attention to Cheng Yang and made himself so busy that he never allowed himself any free time.

Once the thought of that person crossed his mind, he would go to the virtual arena to play a couple of games to distract himself.

It didn’t seem that different from before. He was still the same person. Life was still the same, so maybe some things weren’t as difficult as he thought.

As the thoughts bubbled up once again, Gu Qing skillfully entered the Cheng virtual arena, matched up with a random opponent and vented with a competitive match.

Gu Qing’s face was expressionless the whole time, as if his heart had literally gone silent, until his message notification popped up.

Gu Qing casually clicked on the message with an expressionless face. He read it with a blank expression, but his heart skipped a beat.

Anonymous user: [Hello boss! I just watched your match, and it was a really great performance!]

Anonymous User: [I’m a first year pharmacy student at Central Star First Academy, and my potion making skills are very average.]

Anonymous User: [I want to sign up for the Academy Mecha Competition, but I can’t find a suitable partner. Do you want to participate in this competition? Boss, have you found a suitable partner yet?]

Anonymous User:[That…. I actually want to team up with you for the competition, but my potion making skills are really mediocre, so if you don’t want to, that’s fine.]

Anonymous user: [So would the boss like to team up with me?]

Gu Qing looked at the message in the chat box and he only felt his heart beating uncontrollably fast. The other party was using anonymity, but Gu Qing seemed to see Cheng Yang in these texts.

Is he hallucinating, or is this really……

Gu Qing stared at the chat box, subconsciously holding his breath, and even his hands shook for a moment.

After a while, a new message popped up in the chat box.

Anonymous user: [It’s okay if you don’t want to team up with me. I was just asking, don’t take it to heart!]

Anonymous user: [Then I won’t bother you in regards to the competition. Go for it!]

Seeing this message, Gu Qing finally came back to his senses and hurriedly typed back two words with shaking hands.

Gu Qing: [I will.]

Whether this was an illusion or not, there was no way he would let this opportunity go.

Only after sending those three words did Gu Qing slowly add, [I am willing to team up with you to participate in the Academy Mecha Competition.]

After thinking about it, he tapped down another line with excitement: [My name is Gu Qing. I’m a second-year mecha student on Pro Star. Nice meeting you.]

The other side seemed to hesitate for a moment before replying, [My name is Cheng Yang. Nice to meet you, boss!]

Gu Qing’s eyes lit up fiercely at that moment: [Hello Cheng Yang, please take care of me in the future.]
